I've given a detailed account of how I read those incidents in the YouTube clip. Of course we know he has a history of it, does that mean every single 50-50 incident should see him declared guilty without any thought process?

All i've seen is the Youtube clip and the first one (the replay is the best way to see it cos the original is too far away) was an absolutely blatent stamp, the second I can't remember and the Vid's now been deleted and the third was a clear kick. I accept that I misjudged the first incident; I only watched it once, and given the outcry on here I'm happy to accept that I'm wrong. The second one I don't really understand, I'm not sure what he's meant to have done. As for the third one, I said initially he should be booked for lashing out, but not for protecting the ball. Centre backs do similarly every time the ball is running out, so I don't really see the problem. And just watch the defender hack at his ankles, it's not like it's all one-way traffic.

I'm far from Rooney's biggest fan and can honestly say I've never celebrated his goals for England.

I have never booed the England players, when he scores I sigh and wonder why he didn't do that during his two year drought. I don't boo him, but I don't cheer.
