you cant press other teams if you cant get past their press on you .... and we dont have a clue how to do that sadly

not all doom and gloom as we looked 110% better after the 2 second half subs but I have come to the conclusion Duffy has become a liability ever since the Huddersfield game ... far too many mistakes and he's not even winning that many headers now

sick to death of the 'bed wetting' term. We were shit. People are allowed to be annoyed at a poor performance.

Bed shitter!

Duffy isn't convincing. Personally feel he has at least one serious mistake in him a game- don't care about stats or plaudits from last season.

Firmly believe Bissouma is a special talent.
He adds a dynamism that is beyond proper and Stephens

Well.

Bernado is clearly not a right back any more than I am.
Duffy going for record of most unncessary fouls conceded in one match.
Gross even worse than his usual away performance, he may aswell take his dog with him next time for the exercise.
Not starting Bissouma who is streets ahead in ability of most of our squad - why?
March head down for every cross, cannot beat the first man per usual and isn't taken off until 70'.

Most diabolical performance I have seen since promotion worse than at WBA and Huddersfield last season. Watford will be in trouble, we were just truly awful all over the pitch.

It wasn’t though. If you calm down, take a breath and accept things, it really wasn’t.

We were so bad it is difficult to know where to start the repair job.

Has Montoya got his work permit etc so eligible for selection if not its back to Schelloto as Bernardo is not a right back for sure.

Sounds like CH set us up to get a point they scored and we were basically then up the creek without a paddle. Need to be set up more offensively against teams that will be around us. Poor game to lose

You’ve just described tactics for 18 away games last seaon, West Ham being the exception.

I thought we bought Balagun because he is versatile and can play both RB and CB ? Why didn’t he replace Bruno ?

Because Bernardo was brought in explicitly because he wasn’t “just” a left back, he could play anywhere in the back four. It makes more sense to keep the guy who’s warm on the pitch and has top level experience playing in a position he’s played in the top leagues than play Balogun, a centre back with barely a pre-season with us to play out of position at right back (he’s a rigid centre half, has never played right back)

He has loads of experience at right back.

That was inexplicably poor. Or, if you'll excuse the french, God ****ing awful shit.

Hughton's teams are characterised by hard work and good organisation. Neither of that was on display today. We looked like an unfit league two team. No cohesion, no energy, no intensity, no ability. And there's no excuse for it. Seven of the promotion winning side, ten of last seasons team, started that game. It's one thing to lose but it's another entirely to lose like that.

The players need to have a hard look at themselves after that performance. As does Hughton who needs to come up with better tactics than that for an away game. It didn't work last year and it sure as shit won't work this year.

On the plus side Bissouma looked lively and like he could make things happen. We've got to find a way of getting him in the team.

It is undeniably a crushingly disappointing way to kick off the season but hopefully when the new signings and Izquierdo get in the team we'll start looking like a decent side again.
It certainly looked like Watford were quicker all around the pitch. They pressed when we had the ball causing us to panic. Our passing was sloppy and it seemed we ran out of ideas when they scored their 1st. What we need to do is have 3-4 days rest because we seemed knackered. I can't see 4-5 players playing after a couple of weeks when the new signings are up to speed. There are 6-8 teams fighting to stay up and by this showing we are one of them. Saying that if we stay up this year it is a successful season.
