Football is bonkers. The majority of Premier League clubs are fielding weakened teams in the cup competitions (so they're never going to win anything) whilst simultaneously binning off a manger or two every year.

What is the point of it all? Where is the soul of football now? There's no journey to enjoy, there's no time to build up a relationship between players, fans and coaches, just a Groundhog Day of sacking, replacements, the managerial merry-go-round, desperate window signings, agents getting richer.

Certainly without parachute payments the Championship is commercially unsustainable.

Its even more stark. Albion's losses last year were £40m. (its income was £29m). Total losses since moving to the Amex (all funded by Bloom) are £118m , and then all the rest on the stadium/training ground so > £280m to keep us afloat.
And even with eye watering tv income, only 12 out of the 20 Prem League clubs made a profit (for 2015/16, figs for 16/17 not complete yet) or if they do , only v.small.
Albion might, if they stay up, make a profit of under £5m.
Hard to say many of them are viable businesses.

Is Tony Bloom's motivation for investing in a successful local football club ? Money ? (or Peter Coates, or Dean Hoyle ?). None are likely to get anywhere near their their money back if they sold their clubs and none show any sign of doing so. Why do Hudds have £100 season tickets ? Why do Stoke offer free coach travel to all their fans for away matches and have done for 5 years ? For some owners, its money driven. A desire to give their fortunes away cos they're football fans.

Well, there record is as bad as ours, It seems that the six clubs around us that have sacked there mangers are now doing better then us, So who are we to criticise.
