What makes it pimps gear? I've got so much to learn.

Too much gold plating and chain mail wristbands.

They do make some decent looking "rugged" watches but their lineage is pure ballroom dancers and del trotter.

Et voila my point is proven.

No offence to you but ultra slimline watches with lots of gold detailing is not to my particular taste. My dad wore one on his deathbed which might have something to do with me not warming. I inherited it. I'll keep it but I'd never wear it.

Some lesser-known marques worth considering include Ball, Bell & Ross, Fortis, Glycine and Sinn. You get a fair bit of watch for your money, primarily because they don't spend zillions of pounds on marketing and on celebrity brand ambassadors. I've always had a soft spot for Oris too.

Given where your tastes seem to be, how about these:

Thanks for looking those up, much appreciated.

Surely that depends on the watch? I quite like this:

Fair enough :)

Tattoos and now a few grand on jewellery. Are you going through a mid life crisis Trig?

It's all downhill from here. Porsche Boxster and Partridge style girlfriend next.

Currently having one of my many old seiko's (6119-6400) serviced by thewatchbloke.co.uk . I absolutely love the vintage Seiko watches from the 60's and 70's. It's currently in bits, i'm hoping to get it back on my wrist very soon! P1100730.jpg

You have to give credit to the watch restorers when you see what's involved and how many parts they have to deal with.
Re wrist I wear on the left however thought I was in a minority and most people (Men) wore on the right, even if you wore on the left you were Gay! Am a left hander to that's how I prefer to wear them, My son wears his on the right
I have a small collection of watches, The ones I wear are going out a Cartier Pasha 2388
On special occasions A lovely Longines 60's all gold.

Mostly wear a very thin Vertex revue as it sits nicely on the wrist.

Would love a good Patek but until those number come up I'll have to wait :(

:D Took me 8 years to get the tattoo (singular), it'll probably be a while before I have a watch - but since the tattoo is on my right wrist, my left is jealous, and I need balancing.

Promise? I'm in my 40s, girlfriend is in her 20s - get in! (that's not true)

Go for it!

NEVER worn a watch. Wife did buy me one (still got it some 25 years later) with my initials on it but never worn it. Not a ring or jewelry person.
