Doesn't anyone else find the names funny? It's not an avenging wolf, cobra, fish hybrid. It's a bracelet that tells the time.

You're right, why give objects strange names, a bit like cars really. Luckily the name does not appear on the dial of my watch, just the model no A17331 on the caseback.

Have several watches by many makers range in price from 1p (cheap Chinese tat bought through ebay) to £500 (can't afford really expensive shit) which was a present.

Currently wearing a Seiko kinetic but have automatics in my watch winder.

I wear watches on the right wrist despite being right handed...which I am told is very unusual most people assume I am left handed because of the watch.

May go after a CCCP watch next with 1961 on it like this one but not that price.

I like their large chunky divers. So, not the watch style you seem to be after.
I'm checking out divers too. The main reason's they're not my first choice are:
I don't go diving (and having a watch that's specifically made for something I won't use it for doesn't appeal to me)
my wrists aren't big

I don't really like the blocky hour hand of the Tudor Black Bay (which is presumably to help see it under water), but I do like the look of some of the divers. I like the Omega PO LM 2500. I will try some divers on, as well as some classics.

Servicing:

So a new automatic watch could do with a service every 3 to 5 years

But what do you collectors do - do you have to service them all every 3 to 5 years, or as you've got several watches, can you leave them not running while not wearing them, meaning they're not wearing out at all and can go longer between services?

I bought me a watch!

Guess the watch - 500 watch points on offer (watch points can be exchanged for beer at a rate of one point to 1p of beer):
