How to set up ITV HD on Sky, assuming you have Sky HD *and* the new EPG...

Go to Services > System set up > Add Channels >

Ensure the following settings are used, if not, change them:

Frequency type in 11427
Polarisation change to H
Symbol Rate stays @ 27.5
Fec as 2/3

Select find channels, you will then see the channel listed as 10510 (not ITV HD). Press yellow to save it, press select twice. Then to view the channel press Services > Other Channels > and then chose 10510 from the list. Voila.

Note: you'd can't record ITV HD on Sky yet.

I did this a few weeks ago and it does work.

It doesn't appear on listings menus and as Wozza said you have to access it thru services and there's no live pause, record or anything but the picture is in 1080HD so no more crappy ITV picture for the footie

If 10510 is not on the list it means your HD box doesn't have the new epg.
If you go back to add channels and search 10.832 H SR 22.0 FEC 5/6 you can select ITV1 West Country which has the best picture quality for a regular SD channel.

You're welcome. The picture should be fine (compared to the usual crappy picture when watching ITV1 on a Sky box)

depends on several factors , brand of TV , size of the TV , viewing distance , screen resolution (1920 X 1080 is best) , settings calibrated for optimum viewing. Also the source material varies in perceived picture quality , ie movies , as some directors like additional grain which is added in post production or bleaching colours.

Watching Defoe score twice reminded me of that similar little chap that played up front for us but in his opinion was better than Defoe.

Having been sacked by Rushden but refused permission to join another English club, the happy little chap trotted off to Greece. Obviously another successful chapter in his "I'm better than Defoe" career as he has played a whole 2 games for the lucky Greeks. Some things just make you smile.

is the HD channel always available, or do I have to wait for an HD broadcast, and will it work with all ITV hd programmes or was it just for the football? (I didn't catch this in time last night, but wouldn't mind ITVHD)

Yes you can - I've just done it although there is no programme on at the moment.
