I haven't seen any this year, lots of huge bees though.

I agree. Wasps are one of a few creatures on this planet that serve no purpose other than to annoy.

Wasps...and cats.

Wasps, unlike Bees, are meat eaters and help to break down dead animals and other insects.

Wasps have a place in a balanced eco-system, or so Bill Oddie told me.

To be fair I fully agree with you. Although if your dog is anything like mine he probably tried to eat the wasp so technically he had it coming! :shootself

Absolutely no point whatsoever.

Here's one being swatted earlier.

im alergic to the bastards. one sting and i swell up like a walrus. therefore, it gives me no greater pleasure than to lure them into the curtain, and spray the things to death with bug spray

So is my little girl. She stepped on one when she was two years old and went into shock it was horrid. We have an epi pen for her now.

In Georgia they had these bloody great mosquitoes, things were the size of Spitfires. As there's not a lot to do there and their TV is pretty grim we would sit outside on the porch where we were regular targets for the nasty bastards. I went to Walmart and invested in several of the utra violet electric shock machines you see in good food shops.

Very satisfying hearing the crack as one of the little sods got fried. Had to empty the corpse trays daily, loads of them.

Even Wasps have some redeeming features but I have yet to find any reason for mossies. Well done God, mosquitoes, like Palace fans, what's the point ?

dont think mine is that bad. my big toe which got stung just swelled up to nearly the size of my foot. it was rather amusing looking back. think the only way it could seriously harm me is if i got stung somewhere like the mouth or throat so that i wouldnt be able to breath
