wasps use their sting as an attack, which is why they have several stings in them, and why they are naturally more agressive than bees

bees use their sting only (in theory) to protect their young, which is why they only have one sting

if you wave a bee away it will generally piss off, wasps just keep flying around you

they're just ANNOYING

Wasps come out in July ( i think) when Apples start to fall???

Only the other day mentioned to my girlfriend how Bumble bees were nice and cuddly and not at all like nasty wasps............em.....she was stung on the leg yesterday by a Bumble Bee....................she is not a huge fan!!!.:nono:

Didn't you suck the sting out straight away and then take a swig from a hip flask and get skippy to go and fetch an antedote!!

That has always been the recognized procedure to follow, what were you thinking of!!

I have a wasp phobia. If one enters the room I have to leave - usually waving my arms and screaming.

Bees are fun. I nearly convinced my 4 year old that bees wear stripey jumpers which are knitted for them by ants. And that flies are just bees that have got too hot and taken their jumpers off.

He had that look for a few seconds, the one where someone is thinking - well I didn't know that, but it didn't last, he worked out i was lying so he told me to stop being silly and whacked me in the nuts. (accidentally i think though i wouldn't put it past his mum to be teaching him )

A worker wasp came indoors on Saturday. Buzzed around a lot. It was not a mimic (fly pretending to be a wasp).

I have been stung by a bumblebee.

So do I, got attacked by a swarm of them twice when I was younger (not the same swarm I don't think!).
