[Albion] Was forcing Sanchez out the worst decision our club has made in years?

It's also worth adding that, although in the end we were happy getting £25m for Sanchez, there was a time during the previous summer that people on here were sniffing at getting "only £40m" for him
So his value dropped by £15M (about 37%) after de Zerbi and Ricardo arrived?

For the reasons I have already provided (based on reliable people including some very loyal to Big Bob who still say he acted badly) i dont recognise the picture you are painting here.
I do (recognise the picture painted).

I don’t recall “dread”. We’re a largely devil you know/conservative fanbase, most supporters thought Maty Ryan was the business, people daring to criticise faced a bit of a backlash.

Imho there was a lazy lumping-them-both-together football snobbery about Button and Steele. One or two people mentioned and mention Steele’s time at Sunderland years ago …. I think that might be you ???.
No, not me. I always maintained that Steele wouldn't be a disaster - and to forget all the Sunderland-til-I-die bollocks (so yes, I did mention Sunderland, but context is everything, wouldn't you agree?)

I have never said that Steele is rubbish; he's OK. I have said - and still do - that Sanchez was better IMHO, and that is not intended as a slight against Steele..

I wonder if the club are aiming for a keeper better than any of Sanchez, Steele and Verbruggen. They all have limitations, they’re not great all rounders. Facets would very include distribution. Perhaps that GK will come from the other 10 on the books. Or Verbruggen’s incredibly young, has he the potential to get close to Alisson or Ederson?

"End of thread" always comes across as such an arrogant statement; it's like 'nobody's opinion is worth sh*t except mine'.

But I guess some people think people like them should be able to end threads, perhaps?

Relax it's just an NSCism isn't it.

Sanchez refused to travel with the team because he was dropped. So he wasn't forced out and it of course was not the worst decision we've made in years. In my humble opinion.

Not necessarily, £25m might have always been his value but fans will always want more for their 1st choice, youth-promoted, Spanish international 'keeper as opposed to a dropped, 3rd choice 'keeper with a perceived attitude problem. Just so happens that both those players are the same man

Excellent. Well done to you. Its such a pity that you havent been able to present a convincing argument as to why.
An argument you're not interested in isn't going to convince you anyway, is it? I don't find yours overwhelming either.........
