It wasn't a stupid post at all. Where is the evidence that Christianity is lining up its members to take on the Muslims? The vast majority of decent Muslim people in this country (aand elsewhere) will find what has happened in France just as appalling as the rest of us do, and decent Christian people would be enormously sympathetic to them.

where is the evidence the vast majorty of muslims are appalled by the Paris attacks?

haven't seen too many demo's in the past

Herewith a statement from the Secretary General of the Muslim Coincil of Great Britain, which didn't take much finding.

There have been demonstrations in the past. Maybe the biased British Press don't give them any publicity.

I know a fair number of Muslims. I have never met one who would support this stuff.

Every time Islamic extremists carry out an attack, the world’s 1.6 billion Muslims are expected to collectively apologize; it has become a cold cliché at this point.

Who benefits from such clampdown on Muslims and refugees?

Two primary groups: One, Islamic extremist groups themselves, who use the clampdown as “evidence” that there is supposedly no room for Muslims in the secular West that has declared war on Islam; and two, Europe's growing far-right, who will use the attacks as “evidence” that there is supposedly no room for Muslims in the secular West that should declare war on Islam.

Although enemies, both groups share a congruence of interests. The far-right wants Muslims and refugees from Muslim-majority countries (even if they are not Muslim) to leave because it sees them as innately violent terrorists. Islamic extremists want Muslim refugees to leave so they can be radicalized and join their caliphate.

Powell wasn't correct (he spoke about the wrong sort) but Churchill was in 1899.............

"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedism lays on its votaries. Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy, improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement, the next of its dignity and sanctity. "

"Moslems may show splendid qualities. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen, all know how to die. But the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it."

If you're offended then be offended, nothing happens if you have a sane mind.

Well, I now expect three or four (at least) of our posters to die of apoplexy from reading that! What team do you represent? You'll be doing them a good job with a slightly emptier Amex than before!

Well, that certainly is a step forward - and very welcome. It's also a damn sight more that we've seen in the past. I just hope (more in hope than anything else) that some of the young turds involved in Islamic extremism see this and take a rain check.

Well done the Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Great Britain. Hope you're not next on the bar-stewards hit list because of this. Sadly, you probably are.

He was certainly right to recognise that recruiting nurses and ancillary staff from the Caribbean would help save the NHS. But he was Minister of Health at the time.

Although our west indian brothers and sisters have had their problems settling in they ahve never blown anything or any body up have they , Enoch Powell , although written off as a ranting looney was undoubtably correct imho.

despite the fact he was talking of the west indian brothers and sisters, so he's correct because you've recast this to another group and makes it relevent to the day? or in fact its all guff as you have just demonstrated.

Get your facts right. Powell had been in India in colonial times. His speech was about South Asians as much as Caribbean people. It was unpleasant but the liberal left have caused so many problems since then with their smug hypocrisy. Time to think of the future I believe.

Why did that ruin everything. Well because Political Correctness has helped save the lives of millions of people in minority groups in hundreds of different countries all around the world - Political Correctness has also SAVED the live of millions of Jews, Muslims, Catholics, Prodestants, Gypries, Hindu's Budists, Gays, disabled people etc JUST DIFFERENT PEOPLES LIVES !

Except Chamberlain's actions also fits into your PC dialogue. How many lives did that cost?

This is just as silly. I did then go on to explain that I meant indigenous folk. Presumably you saw that but decided to pick on this, very conveniently. Your final sentence is irrelevant - at no time did I, or indeed anyone on this thread, mention anything to the contrary. The point was that with tit for tat atrocities, attitudes can polarise.
