Gutted about this but we F**ked about so long on this one who can blame him. By all accounts Wolves got £500,000k for him when we were quibbling over £100,000 and the player himself has suddenly got a 3 year contract and a weekly salary supposedly double what he had at Wolves.

100% THIS

Can't blame any player for earning the most he can.

If we didn't fu** around for 3 months dithering he would have signed for us in June.

We're the 'Poundland' shoppers, no, we are the sort of person who buys Xmas decorations on Boxing Day when they're half price cos no one else wanted them!

Ever since we 'hit the ceiling', we've been falling to the floor. Others might be able to justify the club in their transfer dealings over the last 14months but there is a pattern forming. One that says BHAFC are not prepared to spend and get outbid by Bournemouth (Grabban) and Blackburn (Conway). Have we beaten another club to any player in the last 14 months?
Anyone can mention it's the agents fault but when an agent gets involved, why is the outcome never favourable to us?
Charlton were in talks with O'Grady but couldn't agree terms - the following month he signed for us. Not sure if that counts?

Good luck to the guy. Any player would jump at the chance of a shot in the Premier League. Especially at 28 yrs of age. Back to the drawing board :)

A blessing in disguise.

Sami's system require's fast, attacking full backs that are capable of putting quality balls into the box.

Ward was very solid last season but he is none of the above.

Move on.

Hard to argue against that. He was very good for us but not sure he would have suited the new system. Hopefully we can stumble across a young Wayne Bridge.

Money grabbing ****. Oh well, sit on a bench all season & get paid more or play week in week out for less. Footballers these days just don't give a shit do they.

No - not allowed to count. It spoils the conspiracy theory.

Yes he had talks, then he didn't agree and went back to his club. I mean when it's been head to head 2 clubs after a player. When is the last time we won? I am just wondering. And I don't think it's a conspiracy, just a bit of tight fisted transfer policy.

If it makes anyone any happier, Burnley must be more stupid than us, paying Ward in excess of 2 Million over his 3 years to sit on the bench. It will also likely result in him losing his International status as he won't be playing much I imagine. Oh well, he's made his bed.
And serves us right also, a serious cock up. Can't bluff everyone all the time, we should have been grateful that Wolves coughed up 3 grand a week for him to play for us.

I had no idea how old he was, so he must be registered if they wish to play him. Could he be frozen out if they make better signings before the deadline?

I would imagine he doesn't really care if he plays or not. It's obviously all about the £££££.

Sad indictment of today's footballers.

I'm sure Burnley didn't appear from nowhere. His agent clearly served his purpose in securing a Premier League deal. I'm certain that we pushed hard to secure him, but one can't compete with a club due £120m over the next few years. It's becoming quite clear as to why Ward didn't sign on at the first offer. Played the waiting game and will reap the dividends.

Quite why someone like Ward will be a millionaire in the nedt few years is another thing.

The way I'm looking at it, we had 6 players (Barnes, Bridders, Buckley, Ward, Upson and Ulloa) that began the season with us last season that now ply their trade in the Premier League. That's got to say something about the quality of team that we had, that they can do that.

Gotta love the way ward is now being semi slated by the very people who were desperate for his return.

I'm not sure that tallies. You want someone to sign, but he chooses an option that appears to be less favourable to playing time and his international career, if his playing time suffers.

I can't and don't see many people criticising his ability.
