Sky News showing a BA 747 on the move at 'closed' Heathrow and 26 long haul flights en route hoping for 'special dispensation' to land, with the first one in at 7:12pm.

You can see them on the Radar. An Easyjet Air bus appears to have taken off from LHR. The first three BA flights from America are on the Radar ,one turned down the west coast of Ireland, another is circling over the Isle of Man and the third is going for it.

i assume most will use it as an 'act of god' to get out of paying.

i've been told with reference to some of our flights, that although the insurance haven't said they will pay out, they haven't said they won't either, and to just submit the claim and see...

saw some insurance expert on tele the other day and said that "acts of god" were bollocks and these "acts of god" happen all the time (flooding etc)

There are now at least half a dozen BA aircraft circling over the UK. One has come from China. Is this an attempt by BA,to force Nats to open the airspace.
There are more over the Atlantic.

If they land safely, NATS wont really have a leg to stand on will they?

It only takes one to fall out of the sky. The flight from China appears to have landed at Schipol. They are doing a roaring trade.

They don't just rock up over the coast and start circling - they'll be under air traffic control.

Again - they won't just say "Cop a load of this" and touch down at LHR.

And regardless of whether 1 flight, 10 flights or 100 flights come in and land safely - absolutely nothing is proven at all.

The Las Vagas flight has given up, as the passengers are all dizzy due to flying in circles and is landing at Shannon Airport.

Latest is that those BA flights that haven't been diverted can land after 22:00. Does this mean that they have caved into Willie Walsh's game of chicken as there have been BA aircraft circling over the Isle of Man and Ireland for the last hour?
