He had to take a massive pay cut to stay with them. Think he's still there now.

this may have been posted during the time but was flicking through an old copy of zoo at work today and it had a feature on how much footballers at different levels earned. the championship offering was from the then brighton player adam virgo. he was on 75k but the average champ wage is around 200k. i have to say i was amazed at this. couldn't believe there was still so much money around even in the second tier of english football. i shudder to think of the aggregate earnings in this industry.

I wrote that piece, and that's what he said he was on. Although he could've been lying I suppose.
