I feel a bit sorry for him, MA played him in every position apart from in Goal. Wish him all the best, I'm sure he'll do well at equal or higher level.

you dot sacrifice your best centre back to be the target man you are lacking. he was not Brighton's best centre back and he got sold to Celtic as a defender. ou doont leave brighton for celtic unless you are by far our best player in an established position - he was not that and it was either bloody stupid or it smells

Or maybe cos he can play well in a number of positions, are young, have a good attitude and was highly considered as being a very good prospect, then spending that kind of money is a reasonable punt. Celtic at the time weren't desperately short of cash and 1.5 million on good prospect wasn't a massive fortune for them.

Pity you couldn't figure that out, but obviously as you have trouble doing alot of basic things such as standing up.. Its not overly surprising.

best of luck, hes an albion legend regardless

No he is NOT! He was a good bloke, average player and I sincerely hope he makes it elsewhere. But lets keep such statements for Mr Ward, Lawrenson, Zamora etc. Christ, even Raphael Meade would get into your Valhalla!!

Off to Millwall or Norwich....apparently.

Can anyone on here substantiate this? Interesting if true but I'm struggling to understand where he could possibly go given his (supposedly) massive wages and his inability to hold down a place in a dire Division One back four.

Good luck, Adam, nice gesture at the end, deserves to go in the Albion archive for his hard work and goals over the years. By no means the most gifted player we've ever had, but done the buzz when it mattered.

what ever you think of him now, he was/is/will be Brighton thru and thru ..............best of luck to Virgs if he goes.

Any excuse to post this.

If you study the crowd carefully there are an insignificant handful of Withdean regulars refusing to cheer as they don't want to break the habit of a lifetime and enjoy themselves - now outted on this thread !:bla::bla::bla:

Best of luck Virgs if the rumours are true.:clap::clap:

If true, despite it not working out this time around I will still think fondly of his first time around and wish him good luck in the future.

Assuming a deal has already been done and it's for money why would we risk his involvement today having been out of the picture for so long? Suggests to me that no deal has been done but he Poyet wants him to seen to be involved in case someone is interested??

Some total muppets on here but if it is true, Virgo I wish you well for the future. Thanks for the memories. You got us to the playoffs and saved our arses against Ipswich,we made a fortune out of a youth player and in you always had a loyal servant and club fan on the pitch.

I think Adam will rue his comments when Slade was sacked. He was the captain and came across as disloyal. I think from then on he was sidelined, lost the captaincy and was on his way. I will never forget his contribution the first time round and wish him well. I would be amazed if he was to go to a higher league club for a fee as has been suggested. He is a shadow of the player he was..shame really. Good luck, Adam.
