When I suggested we follow this excellent home improvement, my wife suggested I was trying to get her to move out.

I took that as a no, we're not having that installed.

I have the opposite problem, if I suggested that we removed the fireplace and installed that  I get a definite NO, from husband who thinks my record collection is already too big,

On a slight tangent, I have been using a focusrite audio interface this week to rerecord a load of old cassette tapes and digitise, have also had a 1/2" 16 track tape digituised and for remasterings and hopefully release an album from my band in the mid 90's, which fell to bits after 2 singles and just before we finished our album! a bit of a vanity project but there's some pretty good stuff there. both studio and live.

Anybody in love with what seems like a new craze of etched vinyl.

There is a version of the remastered Goats Head Soup that includes a 7" etched single.

It also seems that the new Bruce Springsteen album when issued on vinyl will be a double album with both discs etched (so basically a single album bumped up to a double to increase revenue).

Anyone a fan of etched vinyl or would you prefer like me to actually have some music to play on both sides?

I've go...... . . . no no Shh Zef

Yes, yes, that's really silly!

I don't think A&S would have stocked that in the stoner rack circa 1993

Anyone find the post about a record cleaner - not the wood glue! I'm sure it's here, but can't find it.

Depends what type of record cleaner.

Manual cleaning I have used this and it works well and removes static https://www.amazon.co.uk/Audiophile...99935584&sprefix=Record+cleani,aps,153&sr=8-6

I was given this for Christmas and it is fantastic but pricey, records I thought that were to far gone were playable again after using it.

I have not used it but a lot of people recommend these

After the success of repairing and restoring the last turntable, I got another one. It's Pioneer PL-130. The service manual suggests it's from the around 1982

It was sold as broken and had no plug so I was not sure if it would work at all. I have replaced drive belt, stylus, given it a clean and of course fitted a plug. It now works really well.

Still needs some work on the dust cover, but should be a nice working vintage turntable when finished.

This is when I got it
