On the other hand

The exit looms for one or two

Lamptey. a player I love, but I reckon we won't see him again
Rushworth. He'll be off on loan this week I reckon
Gilmour. Credit to him for being there, but surely off
No twists in the widely trialled, Moder and Dahoud exits either

The attacking depth of the squad is incredible. March, Enciso and Ferguson will have their work cut out to get back in the team. Adingra and ACD are now smashing up the wings.
Enciso I think will force his way in. I think there will be a load of rotation behind the striker

Solly and Evan, I just reckon we won;t get any significant minutes out of in 2024. (Estupinan also)

Well, for all the concerns about Veltman, I note a clean sheet.

Minteh looks a proper handful, I’m encouraged by the speed and aggression of our press. I really do think our team looks almost Klopp-like going forward.

I’m not as concerned about our defence as some others, I agree it looked open at the back, but we weren’t breached.

I actually thought Steele had a good game as well.

A very dominant performance by us, and still without a number of players, and with the prospect of Matt O'Triley and - possibly - Ferdy Kadioglou too.

Really good overall after those shakey gaps in the first half. I definitely prefer Hinsh RB - Webster has looked decent pre season too as has JPVH. Just think we need fullback cover (Turkish guy would be ideal as covers both) and another quality midfielder. Possibly a striker. But overall looking decent.
lol u dont want much do you. We'll likely only have Welbeck for 1/2 season at most due to his age and previous form but we still have Pedro, Ferguson, Enciso, Solly, Minteh, Mitoma, Adingra, Sarmiento and Cozier whathisface as attacking options. Thats 5 from 10, not including any under 21s who might be given the odd outing (Omahony?)

Won 4-0 but I'm very worried. We can't play like this in the EPL we will get destroyed. Also if we go one down the opposition will just sit back and do us on the break.

Gonna be fascinating. Think we will do ok Vs Everton but could get a mauling by man u

These aren't the players you're looking for.

Lots to like about today's performance, but if we give Dwight McNeil that much space, he'll make us pay.

A back three of Dunk, JP van Hecke and Webster away to Everton please.

Intrigued by what Fabian has seen to play Baleba at left back rather than in the middle.

A good display against a decent Spanish side. I don’t see many 0-0 games this season.
Going forward we look a real handful but equally, we look incredibly vulnerable at the back at times. It seemed that on occasion we had only the 2 centre half’s defending when Villarreal attacked.
A few observations… Minteh is a handful. Mitoma still has another gear. Ayari and Hinsh both impressed when they came on.
My only tiny gripe is I don’t like Baleba at the back. I think he has more to offer in midfield.

Do we intend to play this style in the Prem ?

If so we might need 11 subs at half time - you couldn't keep this pace up for 90 minutes.
There are a few out there who fancy a start in this team.

Well we’ll soon find out. Everton are exactly the type of team that will test the gung ho, we’ll score more than you tactics.

I am setting up behind my sofa for this one :lolol:

Nah. I’d imagine we’re just playing like this to trick our PL rivals.
