From my very limited experience of submarines, A few navy open days, but quite extensive knowledge of film sets, you would have had to open it up and make it bigger to get a film crew and kit in there. Just from a practical point of of view it would need to be “exploded”.
From a cinematography point of view, a submarine would look about as exciting as a server room if you didn’t add all the inaccuracies and whistles as bells. All the wide metal gangplanks and flashing lights etc. Creates the atmosphere.
While I have upmost admiration for the armed services, I imagine operating a submarine in peacetime is a rather boring exercise in mathematics and IT and requires a little “sexing up”.
Anyway, good first episode. I shall look forward to catching up with tonight’s once I’m settled on shift.

And I never realised that off watch you could wear civvies at sea.

And the ratings badges weren’t real life and why was the Coxn wearing and old style No.8’s yet the rest of the ratings the newer coveralls?

And Compston’s character was a CPO yet his file photo showed him in Square Rig.

To be fair, it’s a bit of light drama for a BH weekend rather than a documentary about submarines. In the same way I don’t imagine there is a single NHS hospital that looks like Holby City

Endeavour definitely guilty of having a terrible accent.

Fortunately, he's back on dry land in Oxford shortly speaking properly. Endeavour returns !

Worthing
The whole premise is wrong.

The Forces have a dedicated internal police force, the Special Investigation Branch that would have been tasked with this death. I’m not sure that civvy police would have jurisdiction on an RN boat, especially a bomber on patrol.

I doubt the inaccuracies are mistakes. They will have been choices for drama and to support the storyline.

As someone said earlier, it's not a documentary about subs. As some of the posts on here demonstrate, that would be quite boring :lolol::kiss:

Sorry! Jokes innit

Either way, it's better than Connery's Scottish Russian. Tonight we shail into hishtory :lolol:
