Why have you posted this thread without naming the person involved? If they wanted privacy then you shouldn't have posted it.

Saying that it hasn't stopped the condolence messages flooding in...

Edit: To clarify how can you hold someone in your prayers if you haven't a clue who they are (not even a username).

I don't think it really matters, its someone known to us - by user name at least, and most probably doesn't live very far from any of our front doors. Someone who shares similar passion about the Albion, and now someone who's wife is about to face an ordeal which will not only affect her but her whole family. You can pray for someone without a name, just the same way I prayed for all the starving children in Africa when I was growing up.

A little support to even those you don't know can go a long long way.

Nothing more I can say that hasn't already been said.

Keep positive for a speedy recovery - please try hard to enjoy your Xmas (are there any kids involved that are at risk of loosing their mum - that would be a real tradegy)

a close relative was diagnosed with cancer about five years ago and there was little hope that she would survive the year. She's still alive and kicking and in remarkably good health, so much so that to see her you wouldn't know of her illness. This just goes to show how fast medical science is improving (unfortunately with the downside of the health service running out of money).

Keep strong, keep the faith and good luck!

I hope the lady in question can take inspiration from my wife who was diagnosed with cervical cancer when she was only 30. She had a course of radiotherapy followed by a full hysterectomy .She has now been clear for 20 years and is in very good health.

Although things will seem bleak at the moment ,there is always hope.My thoughts and prayers are with them.

Can I just thank everyone for what they have put here. I am sure the poster will read this in time.

To bad Ash, I appreciate what you say, however she was diagnosed this morning and as such I thought it best to her husband to say if he wants to remain anonymous at this time. We must respect his and the family's wishes 100%. It also has deeply affected their friends as they are the most lovelly people you could hope to meet.

I will speak to him tomorrow, pass on your best wishes and also many thanks for all the PM's sent to me, I will of course pass these on.

Thanks once again
Dave

Here's hoping that things work out in the long run, and my thoughts are with the family concerned, and also with others I know of out there who are suffering similar hardships at this time.

This kind of news would obviously be devastating at any time of year, but it must seem extra hard at a time which should be about happiness.

Keep the faith though, all will be well in the end, and I think it's plain to see that you have overwhelming support and sympathy from everyone here.

That news is bad enough, but at this time of year it will put a real dampener on any celebrations.

My step-daughter is currently having chemo for cancer of the womb, ovaries, liver, lung and brain, all brought on by pregnancy.
It was the biggest shock we've had in the 25 years we've been together when we heard. Choriocarcinoma is the 3rd hardest cancer to treat, but the treatment is working well at the moment.

My thoughts go to the family concerned. Stay positive and, Inshallah, all will be well in the end.

Inshallah. My thoughts and prayers to everyone who has to go through this pain and uncertainty.

I agree with this post. Cervical cancer is one of the most curable cancers. Although it must be a shock at the moment, stay positive.

Dave and everyone else who's posted or read this thread. ~ Bad Ash I have no problem identifying the person as me.

Firstly, thank you all for your kind wishes and thoughts at this time, it has come as a bit of a shock even more so as we got married a month ago and have two wonderful children aged 2 and a half and 6 months. At 33 this is unusually young to get this form of the disease.

I have seen a new side to my wife in the past day, bravery that I never knew she had. Luckily the consultant thinks that they have caught this early enough to cure the problem, however we won't know for sure until the full analysis is completed on her organs when she has her hysterectomy. We are all being positive about things and the signs do look encouraging, so we have to carry on and deal with this for the sake of our families and kids.

We're determined Chritmas will be great for the kids, as this is the first real year that our eldest has taken notice of the the lights, trees and stuff and we don't want to dampen.

Thanks agin for your best wishes, have a nice Christmas and we may see some of you on Boxing Day

If it's any consolation Rusco (which I know it can't be that much), at least your youngsters are too young to understand what's going on.

As has been said before, "keep the faith".

I hope that all goes well for you both.
