That semi-automated system works more accurately. I suppose whether it’s ‘better’ depends on whether you’re keen on players’ toenails being ruled offside. The law needs to be loosened to redress the balance.

I'd like to see the on field ref team make a decision on offside. VAR then checks whether that decision is clearly wrong. If its not, go with the on field decision - do away with the nonsense of deciding if a toe may put someone offside.

The angle of the camera shown no way can be considered the penalty box one. Therefore are Palace compliant? There's no way a close penalty decision to whether in or outside the area could be made from that angle.
We as fans not just Brighton deserve some answers to basic issues with decisions made by the EPL even why away fans are in the Gods at Newcastle, completely against the EPL regulations.

Why aren't the VAR cameras mounted in the perfect position in their new stand?
Did the architect forget to include them?
They have had to re-purpose their VAR cameras onto the crowd, a decent chance of getting the Croydon arrest statistics and % of crimes solved up by doing that.
What puzzles me is that Clown 1 isn’t dealing with a single frame of video - he must shuffle backwards and forwards to find the moment the ball is played. That would make it even more obvious that there is another defender, moving around. Clown 2 could possibly blame a fuzzy, low-res single image, but it still only takes a quick look to see the other defender.

Well as I said, take up the argument with Dermot Gallagher! What I would say is that if 'clear and obvious' doesn't apply to off-side, VAR woul be a damn sight better - or a lot less bad - if it did!

Say we miss out on Europe by the two points VAR effectively cheated us out of yesterday, Tony clearly has the funds, could he sue the VAR people for negligence and subsequent loss of earnings?

Trust me, the image the VAR lot use is anything but blurry. That would have been a crystal clear shot on an extremely large monitor, which makes the f*** up even harder to fathom.

Even if it costs us a league place it will still be a lot of money. I wouldn't be against us suing.

He could but he won’t because he realises mistakes happen and that it won’t be one single incident that causes us to miss out on Europe if that what happens.
Should Arsenal sue because of the incorrect offside, should Chelsea for the clear handball not given, if either of them miss out on something by a point or two?
The club have already accepted the apology from PGMOL and won’t be making further comment. I’m sure behind the scenes they’ve made further representation to the PL etc and with the clear number of mistakes made this weekend it’s obvious things need to change but I'm pretty certain over the course of a season most clubs can pinpoint moments where ref/var got things wrong and we’d never be out if court of chairmen started suing.
