What are the chances of an outbreak happening and causing an issue?

Significant enough for this testing strategy to be put in place I guess, otherwise why bother?

My wife self tests twice a week and loads her results on to a website. She could be testing the dog for all the authorities know.

Scientist 1: "Hmmm...very strange test result from this lady in Cheshire..."
Scientist 2: "Why do you say that?"
Scientist 1: "Well, she tested negative for Covid but it looks like she's bitten the postman."

I'm broadly in favour of vaccine passports.

There are problems with the idea, but none that are insurmountable or that I can't live with for a year or so.

The bigger picture is that I want to go to gigs and football but don't want to put myself or my family at risk.

If you believe the University of Warwick, an outbreak in summer after near-universal vaccination is likely to be worse than the outbreak in January when no-one was vaccinated.

If you don't believe the University of Warwick, however ...

Well if the vaccine roll-out is now likely to be slowed down given the supply problems being discussed elsewhere I guess we'll be shutting the young people out of society that bit longer?

Still, as long as the old people can do as they please...

It's unfair on the young.

But keeping events closed for longer than they have to is the greater unfairness

I'm 100 percent against the vaccine passports and it's worrying that tony Blair and his organisation is having such an influence on our government.
I suspect it's because it's a partnership that works.
Vaccine passports will help Blair's organisation quest for tech driven ID cards as part of the global rollout of the Chinese model of governance so he can become president of the world.
The vaccine passports and testing will also suit those in the conservative party who thrive on"greed and capatilism" to ensure we stay in a cycle of lockdowns ands vaccines for years.
The vaccine rollout which up until now I agreed with has now been turned into mass control of the population by the state and an opportunity for pharmaceutical companies to make as much money as possible.
Just give the vaccines to those that want it and let us ALL get on with our lives.
Despite having some concerns I will still be getting my jab but I'm doing it so young people can enjoy the freedoms that I enjoyed as a young person, the vaccines passports will not do that.
And I certainly don't agree with young people being forced to take the jab if they don't want it.
And I also don't agree with having a scheme which excludes parts of society as seen in Israel at the moment.
some very worrying issues with the"green pass" in Israel that I do not want to see over here thanks,so
tony Blair's spokesperson Michael Gove saying our scheme will be similar to israel's is very disturbing indeed.

Young people are taking regular tests in any case, so providing a negative test result won't be too onerous.

There's a lot to unpack there so I'll stick to one quick question. Why would greedy capitalists in government want perpetual lockdowns?

Kids and teachers are. Most of them aren't.

You might have a few valid points in all that but "Tony Blair's spokesperson Michael Gove" gives it away that this is a late April Fools post. Lol.

Genuine question. Are we truly going to reach this step?

In my mind, "No legal limits on social contact" means no 1m+ rule, no face masks and no certification to prove you are not infected.

There are aprox. 3m NHS and care workers in the UK, the vast majority of whom have been carrying out rapid covid tests twice-weekly for months
