Mary Hopkin was responsible for the "Do Do Do" vocals on Bowie's 'Sound and Vision'. Cliff Richard's real name is Harry Webb & Elton John played piano on Jackson Browne's 'Redneck Friend.'
Mmmm. I've got hundreds in my brain and I'll bore anyone within ear-shot when one is triggered. One Saturday someone asked what the name of the album "NY Excuse" is on. The poor sole who asked got a 5 minute monologue about the evolution of Soulwax's Nite Versions long player and how the name came about.
If you're interested they released the initial, and more guitar based, album Any Minute Now to little aclaim. So they re-worked it and released an electronic version. The name comes from the name Duran Duran used to give to the club mixes of their singles.
Eminem has sampled Chas and Dave. They were session musician's on a Labi Siffre song (forget which) that Eminem sampled for 'My Name Is'
Sorry I am calling your bluff on that - surely NO-ONE has ever sampled Chas and Dave?
I will need hard proof that this could have happened

Hard rocking Lemmy from Motorhead was in Roy Woods group Wizzard and can be seen playing bass on the video for "I wish it could be Christmas everyday"!
He was also in Hawkwind and sang lead vocals on their only single hit "Silver machine"
The Stealers Wheel song "Stuck in the middle with You" is an ode to Billy Connoly and another member of a band they used to play with. The lead singer of SW had Billy Connoly to right of him on stage and inbetween songs Connoly would crack jokes. To the left of him was the bassist who would crack uop laughing at the jokes well into the next song hence "Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right.."
Steely Dan were often attributed as recording this song but they never did, they were however named after a notorious Dildo in a porn film that was doing the rounds at the time.
Gil Scott-Heron was the voice on the Tango adverts - 'You know when you've been Tangoed'
Never heard about him playing for Wizzard & can't see the likelihood myself however more undisputable Lemmy facts....
His dad was a vicar
Was a roadie for Jimi Hendrix
Bass player for Hawkwind's best stuff in their classic 1972-1975 era and did indeed do vocals for Silver Machine
Wrote 'Motorhead' while in Hawkwind and was shortly after sacked after being arrested for alleged Cocaine possession (felony)while either going in or out of Canada/USA - was later was found out to be speed (misdemeanour) but was still slung out by the rest of the band - terrible mistake which they never recovered from IMO
Living proof you can subsist on speed and booze[/QUOTE
The original video has the embedding disabled but even on this crappy copy you can still see Lemmy miming away on his base.

He was also on the video for "See my baby jive" (For some reason Lemmy is wearing cricket pads in this one!)

Having a Lemmy moustache doesn't make you Lemmy.
The bassist in Wizzard was a bloke called Rick Price.
No he didn't. He played on the b-side, "Bald Headed Woman".
But......Pete Townshend played bass for Thunderclap Newman under the name Bijou Drains.
In US female punk rock band The Donnas not one of the members has a Christian name of 'Donna'.
