Umm, that's the very definition of a conspiracy theory.
Not really. It’s just a theory, no conspiracy here at all. The release of the early 2000’s US Navy videos a few years ago could well be seen as planting a seed in all of our minds tbf.

they're drones from China. right now it's convenient for US to let the alien thing run as it's a bit embarrassing to not have intel on this tech. for decades US flew spyplanes over Russia, China, others, which were frequently confused for UFO as they exceeded commonly known capabilities. these seem to "float" slowly, probably have enough uplift to maintain height, solar powered, drift on the jet stream.

Wouldn’t surprise me if fake alien invasion is used as a means to apply yet more fear (and control) on the population.

I am no conspiracy theorist, but with recent admissions by various American authorities and the military they seem to be preparing the general public for admission that there are unidentified intelligent objects visiting earth. That will spark all sorts of repercussions, including admission they cannot defend earth if these objects were hostile, and blow religion out of the water, a real change in our position in the universe as being rather insignificant.
But won’t the aliens worship the same God as us?
