and according to the Argus , the club are only now investigating undersoil heating for Falmer !!! Isn't it an absolute requirement for modern footbal stadia?

Depends - I was aware that the SCG (a company used to worked for did some turf maintenance work there) were toying with the idea of using warm water waste to warm the subsoil to keep the turf growing during the off season when the AFL used it. Guess theres not enough sun here to make it solar heated (like most backyard swimming pools where I grew up) but surely undersoil heating can still be environmentally friendly.
