This is another pisser about the shit hole that is Withdean and all the regulations about not being able to play on a Saturday in December.

Can't help but think if the game was being on Saturday at 3pm it would still be on.

I got a mile down the road before I heard the news, but why couldn't a decision have been made a bit earlier to save people who travel from further afield wasting their time.

really gutted about this sell out at the withdean is bloody unusual and when we won would have been in the play offs now other teams will overtake us.

just got back from the withdean.....what a shit result!! obviously hadnt heard before i left so went down to be told be the stewards that it is off. They are equally as pissed off as us as they wouldn't have had to go in if they knew earlier.
Still went the to the sportsman for a quick drink and a look at the pitch, which is frozen over and defiantly in no state to be played on.

Looks like we are going to be playing twice a week in the spring.
What with already planned fixtures against Walsall and Tranmere we will now have to play Gillingham, Chelthenham and most probabily Southend in midweek.

This fixture pile up could really knock our chances of getting a play-off spot.

Great, just had a 100 mile round trip for f*** all. what a waste of time and fuel. Checked the Official site beore leaving home at 16.00, game was definately on, found out at Brighton station at 1830 it's cancelled. Bloody Ref, it hasn't just suddenly frozen, people said on here last night the game was in doubt. Not a happy bunny.

Was sat in the Brewery Tap when the news came up on SKY about 6pm. Dover had slready seen the Gillingham bus go by towards Withdean, so I'm thinking it's a VERY late decision.

Couple of stewards came in, one gave me an instant-collectors-item programme, they reckoned the pitch was playable tho the covers hadn't been down, but the running track was the problem. Like a skating rink even after the grit and shit had been put down.

Certainly don't seem quite as cold here in BN1 as on previouis nights, but evey night, including this one, the frost gets more stupidly impressive. All the cars caked in it already, and looks like it's been snowing, frost is so thick.

Probably best all round to call it off. Shit happens aye?

I had a 120 mile round trip tonight....some of the blame lies with the club who should have pressed for an earlier inspection. They know there are a load of us who come from outside of Sussex and far flung reaches of Sussex too.

Pretty pissed off with the way it was handled-most unprofessional.

I once played in a match which we were 3-0 up at half time and then the Ref abandoned it because of the frost.

When we replayed it at the end of the season we lost the game and it cost us promotion.

How pissed off were we.

Fair weathered refs!!

I don't care though. I'm local enough.

I expect the flight to Dubai will be delayed as well.

Hope not - but the airports were not in a good state last night...

Severe fog causes flights chaos
Hundreds of passengers were stranded as severe fog grounded planes at Gatwick, Stansted and Southampton airports.
As many as 2,000 people were affected by cancellations at Gatwick. Some 16 departures were cancelled at the airport, 12 of them Easyjet flights.

In Southampton, flights were cancelled from 1700 GMT on Friday while arrivals were diverted to other airports including Birmingham and Bournemouth.

Elsewhere at Stansted, three flights were diverted away from the airport.

Hooray! I am the biggest LOSER of all!!

Probably, only a 90 mile round trip for me, but I'll bet that my car had the worst fuel economy, I didn't dare put it into fifth with all that fog about or the carb would have iced up!!
