Urgent - Please Read And Help Ffa Now!

The FFA Team needs your urgent help please. We need names & postcodes of friends/relatives/neighbours etc living in a Labour Constituency anywhere outside of Sussex.

Please ensure that names supplied are supportive of Falmer and do not mind their name being used on their behalf in lobbying their MP.

The website: www.locata.co.uk/commons/ will cross check postcodes/areas with the sitting MP.

Please respond with individual names/postcodes and the name of the individual's Labour MP.

We have had a good initial response (see another thread) but we need more names/postcodes please.

So get out your address book and think of anyone you know outside of Sussex - check whether they live in a Labour constituency - check whether they are ok about giving their name/postcode to us - then email your list to

We want every NSC bod to gave us a minimum 10 names/postcodes by Friday 27 Feb. So over to you please.

The FFA team have now set up a website that is dedicated to this particular bit of the campaign.

This is what's happening:-

STEP 1

Have a look at the postcard here . See if you agree with its sentiments and if you would be prepared to sign one. We have created it in the style of a traditional card that would be found on Brighton sea-front.

STEP 2

We are targetting certain constituencies which we think will help us in our quest. If you know in which constituency you live then please check to see if it is a target constituency. Or, if you know who your MP is, then please check to see if he/she is a target MP.

Otherwise, please check your club here to see in which areas we need support for our campaign.

We want MPs to receive quite a number of these postcards each so that they are in no doubt as to the strength of feeling on this issue, so please do respond if you live in one of the specified areas. We will keep these lists updated as responses come in.

STEP 3

If you agree with the sentiments of the postcard and are in one of our target areas then we would ask you to email your name and postcode to us.

With the decision imminent from the Deputy Prime Minister we need to minimise delay and, of course, expense. So, if you send us your name and postcode we will write it on the bottom of the card for you and deliver it to your MP at the House of Commons. This will be quick, efficient and effective. It is highly unlikely that your MP will want to get in touch with you, but we hope they will get in touch with the Deputy Prime Minister's Office.

It would help greatly if you know who your MP is and in which constituency you live. If you don't know then take a look at www.locata.co.uk/commons which will give you this information from your postcode.

If you can help then please send all this information in an email to tim.carder@virgin.net Make the subject "Postcard" followed by your club name. In the message please put your Name, Postcode, MP and Constituency on separate lines, followed by any message you may like to add.

If you can also get permission from friends, relatives, etc, to join in, then please send as many names as you can.

Are these going to be printed so that they can be handed out on March the 6th? It would be a very effective way for fans from other clubs to send the message to Prescott. All it needs is a signature and a stamp.

The aim is specifically to target Labour MPs, but not to overwhelm any individual MP with too much correspondence.

So a blanket distribution of postcards isn't on.

However, a number of the games that Albion fans will be attending are in Labour constituencies and it can reasonably be assumed that most home fans will live locally (obviously this doesn't apply to the Man U v Fulham game) and they could easily be recruited to send a postcard.

I'll contact Tim Carder and suggest that we get a small supply of postcards to the people who will be involved on 6 March at a match in a Labour constituency.
