There is no way he'd come here, but if it is us who have bid for him, I'm gonna sit back and enjoy this close season because we won't have shown this much ambition since Bamber backed Mullery to take us to the top and we will be signing quality players if that's how high we've set our sights.

Between Charlton, Norwich and Southampton there isn't one single pot to piss in. I'd be astonished if it was any of them. Whoever it is he won't go to another League 1 club unless they pay him a shitload of cash

Would be suprised if it was us, would expect it to be norwich possibly Mk dons, as charlton or saints dont have that kind of money. Even if it is us, he wouldnt come here, and would have better options open to him. Would love to see him sign, but not a chance it will happen.

load of tosh, he'll be going up a league and i dont think anyone in this league would even bother trying (im sure they check intentions with agents before making formal approach to club).

my tip: to Newcastle.

Is Tony Bloom already beginning to splash the cash? I can't really think who else in League One can afford him:

According to the Leeds Evening Post, Middlesbrough are the latest club to be linked with Jermaine Beckford.

The striker is on the transfer list and has been linked with interest from City and now Middlesbrough.

However, there has only been one firm bid on the table and that has come from a League One club.

Beckford's agent Nick Rubery told the YEP: "On the basis that we've had one offer and he's now on the transfer list, it seems pretty likely that he'll be leaving before next season.

"It's a good offer from a League One club but the increase in wage was so insignificant that it gave us nothing to think about."

I think everyone has read this wrong. There are no 'transfer offers' from a league one club. What the agent is saying is that leeds offered him a new contract and that it is a good offer for a (bearing in mind leeds are a) league one club.

Read the article again and see what you think?!

I think you maybe right there.

meaning Leeds have offered, he has rejected it and is therefore on the transfer list.

Yeah it is. Its the reason he is on the tranfer list. But if you do read it and change "League one Club" to " Leeds United" and still fits.

Anyones guess though.

Yeah, I think RM-Taylor has put 2 and 2 together, got a little bit excited and started a rumour all of his own!

People need to realise that we haven't suddenly become a mega rich league one club. The only reason we may afford a few decent players this transfer window is because Russell is looking to build a small more compact squad of around 22-25 players.

'Uddersfield and Swindon have quite wealthy backers. I think your three quoted teams are struggling financially. Certainly the Stains and Chorlteton.

we have wealthy backers but we wont be signing him. our backers are looking at sustainability not pissing money up the wall on a mr. too big for this division.

If Swindon sell Cox for a few million then they will be looking for a few large cash signings.

I also imagine MK Dons and Millwall have money, Millwall could use the play off cash and that would really pi** off Leeds!!!!
