As an example from reading the national papers at the moment, you would think that we virtually live in a lawless society with everyone carrying knives and stabbing each other.

Yet in sunny Sussex where I live. I know no-one whom has been knived, no-one whom has carried a knife, nor no-one whom is contemplating carrying a knife for security i.e. it has never even come up in a conversation with whom I have had with anyone and if it did I think I would laugh at them, rather than agreeing with them that they should do for security purposes.

Concerning children as well it is a similar thing, according to the papers they are moronic numbskills whom roam in gangs with hoods on making OAP's life hell and can't construct a co-herent sentence. Well just yesterday my 9 year old nephew recited me his 13 times table, which is something I never learnt at school.

I do know what you are saying about county council's and I do have a bit of a bug bear about my bins, but I can live with it. I am sure my uncle who lives in France whose wife can't get a job has his worries to.

My missus works for Victim Support. Sadly there are stabbings or violent attacks each and every weekend in Sussex.

I dont really want to go into my personal details but I can assure you that I have a decent education, it was attained at a state school and my employment is not low-grade clerical work. This is all I will tell you.

I tend to come on here for a bit of keyboard sparring. This is the place for views and opinions. Just because we differ you get all personal with me.

Isn't that the NSC rule, if someone disagrees with you they are a wanker.

Seems to be the case. I admit I recently called someone a bell-ender but other than that I dont get personal. You disagree with me but you dont get personal.

not at all i just get incedibly annoyed at his vitriolic attacks on my country , i wouldnt mind if they were all based on fact, but they arent they are all based on some form of spiteful prejudice against anyone who isnt of his ilk, i.e working class people who are relatively affluent. i dont agree with your views on the housing mkt but dont think your a wanker.

OK...France is very beautiful and I worked there some years back in Biarritz and around Lac de Lyon and the Ardeche region so got to know it well and agree that in many regards France offers a more civilised way to live.

However

The french people are regularly held to ransom by trade unions

There is rampant nepotism in French business to the extent that many graduates cannot get a decent job because someones son has been given it (hence why so many young French people prefer to live and work in the UK which is a meritocracy)

Integration of races is decades behind UK

French cities are just as dirty as any in the UK and because the sewers are shallower than UK norms they tend to hustle quite a bit when its warm

French toilets. nuff said.

That said French people byand large are more cultured than the UK and education and health is generally better than here, but it means taxation is higher.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO Nick. That will never do. Stop talking such utter nonsense. It is HERE in England that the dirty streets, ethnic unrest and high taxation are such a problem. The Daily mail said so.

I try not to get personal on NSC although I let myself down yesterday when Voro had the audacity to disagree with me but I blame that on the heat but if someone abuses me first its fair game.

But isn't that her job, so she would know about that type of thing. Just like any and every Victim support worker around the world would tell me that there are also stabbings were they are.

What I know is that where I live, I know of no-one whom has been stabbed, nor carries a knife, nor intends to carry a knife. Yet if you read some of the papers we are on the brink of anarchy. Kids also do not roam the street in hooded gangs threatening everyone with their drunken loutish behaviour. If the area that you live is like that you have my deepest comisserations and honestly I would suggest you move.

Maybe I am lucky, or maybe I just do not believe everything I read in the papers and try to make up my own mind concerning how I perceive my quality of life to be. I think that there are areas in Sussex (and thereby England) that are actually quite pleasent to live in.

I also think as a general rule the youth of this country have no respect for anyone or anything are often braindead and are very poorly educated. The conversation and humour seems to be based solely on taking the piss out of everyone. There also seems to be some homophobic and anti semetic phrases banded about willy nilly which has come from the School and the " cool " way of speaking.

That is hilarious. What a load of old twaddle.

You forgot to add that all black blokes are thieves, all Asians are shopkeepers, and that the Poles have taken all our jobs.

Generalising twat.

The democratic and free EU
Cos Americans have never heard of Belgium.

Fortunately at least two have. They have between them paid me over $5000 (admittedly, about 30p in real money) in the last month to go down there, drink Belgian beer, eat frites and say nice things about the place.:drink:
