Ulloa has a good conversion rate of chances to goals, if you exclude penalties. He should not go near them. Most times if he gets a couple of good chances in a game he will put one of them away. He scores important goals, regularly. Hence his value. His overall play is nowhere near the standard of what one would expect for the price but it is goals that count at the end of the day.
I think Ulloa is way overpriced if all this talk is true. He has a reasonable goal record at Championship level, but does not tuck many chances and half chances, is slow (sorry, but he is really is) and waste time and energy with his tiresome arguing with refs about centre-halves. Surely he will find life against pac-ier, more powerful and better organised PL defences even tougher. But if we can stitch a PL club up for the best part of £10m, that would be a major coup for us; one I don't think we'd regret.
