UK net migration hits record high

The big thing for Germany and the EU is an ever increasing retired population without the support of an increasing working population. Growing economies need people, it is a simple fact. Your economy doesn't grow from a population that isn't, and certainly one that is increasing its aging dependents.

It's not a gaffe by Merkel, under the compassionate gesture, she will look to be gaining a young and in some cases a fully trained addition to the work force.

This is perhaps why David Cameron hasn't put the breaks on immigration here, despite all his promises leading up to the 2010 general election. He knows it's cheaper and easier to keep the borders open than to provide proper investment to create employment.

Why dont you share your wisdom on why its pathetic ? Its an inconvenient truth morelike.....

Yep, the photo points out the places where there is no war, and points out the areas where benefits can be attained, the one word response just shows that the poster has no ideas or anything useful to reply.........now that is "pathetic" imo.

of course, that's the point of the meme. A helpful graphic for where there is no war and where benefits are available. They should hand them out at the Syrian border.

As i pointed out earlier, very soon with regard to the new facility near Calais the migrants currently at the jungle will have the opportunity to prove us all wrong and show they are not economic migrants when they register en mass for asylum, and try and gain refugee status in France.

shall i hold my breath?

I think this is one area where the UK and the French may actually work together.

Can you let me know why, if there are as many women and children as you claim, some of items listed as Not needed in the poster, in bold orange capitals are women and childrens clothes ??

Maybe high-heels and boob tubes are not practical in refugee camps?

So the photo is wrong then eh, or are you being deliberately evasive and deflective.

Your link proves nothing and says nothing about why they are heading for northern europe, the picture illustrates quite how many safe countries are being bypassed on the way to northern europe, and why.

The link shows they are not all heading for Britain/Germany/Sweden as the picture claims.

100% of which refugees? There are between 3.5 and 4m in Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt

Which were not the countries in the post you were replying to, the post and countries being "How come the onus is continually on Europe to accommodate 100% of the refugees?
Why can't Australia, NZ, Canada, USA, Russia, Japan, South Africa, Brazil etc step up and offer refuge?"

According to your photo, all refugees are fleeing to Britain, Germany and Sweden. Yes?

It also implys that they are only doing so for the benefits.

The UK has already given more than £920million to the humanitarian effort - more than Germany, Netherlands, France, Italy, Hungary, Austria and Poland combined. That is to Syria since 2011.

Russia is arming and backing Assad and helping to create the crisis . Western Europe absorbing muslim migrants can only benefit Putin in the long run .
