This has been a good performance by the Albion. They've gone down to 10 men but haven't missed a beat, just excellent game management whilst still carrrying a threat up front.

McGill's just made the save of the match there, tipping a deflected shot out for a corner.

Then another diving save a minute later. Impressive.

He's a big lad though - bundled in his goal very nicely!

Second yellow for Furlong - no complaints, professional foul.
You make a good point about Ferguson. We don't have anyone like him. Tall, strong, can play with his back behind goal, like Murray dare I say it, albeit probably a little too young/raw for this season. Will be interesting to see his development in the U23 ahead of next season.

Really impressive performance, fully deserved win and defence and McGill have stepped up after the red.

Yeh certainly too young for senior football this year, but you'd imagine the pathway is mapped out for him and he'll be making his way down the leagues from next season

Besides the sending off, the only downside is some one didn't give their captain a slap. Filthy little toad because he was losing, he'll make a good league two/conference centre half with that attitude.
Let's focus on our lot. Good, solid and confident display and well worthy of the points

Good game that, it was a very Andrew Crofts performance, hard work, determined good passing and a little bit of flair when the opportunity was there. Mom for me was Marc Leonard, head and shoulders above everyone else but thought Molumby in the 1st half was also very good, quieter after being booked. Good saves at the end from McGill too.

Excellent stuff. Well played Albion - as impressive with 10 men as they were with 11. Actually, I think that's one of the most enjoyable U-23 performances I've seen. Very encouraging.

Opening wins for the first team, the U-18s and the U-23s - all away from home.

Fantastic start to the season.

What impresses me about our U23s is how comfortable they are on the ball, all over the pitch.

We know what Molumby can do, and he did well tonight. Of the rest, I wouldn't say that any of them look Premiership-ready but certainly Peupion and Moran have quality and could be knocking on the door by the end of the season, while Ferguson has the physique and the battling qualities needed for a lone striker at the highest level.

Lots of positives and an enjoyable watch. Moran definitely worth a mention too - he looks really promising imo - the coverage was good but I’m sure his name should be pronounced More-an - however pedantry aside, we can deffo see potential goal scorers of the future - Tolaj, Peupion, Ferguson, Emmerson too as AZ highlighted earlier - great first few days of the season!

I agree, none look like they should be sent to Scotland

Didn't see this game, so thanks all for the updates, I do agree with you about how comfortable all our players are on the ball.

It will be interesting to see how this Hibs link-up works out. In terms of football sustainability, you can see how it is everyone's interest for good young players to gain professional game experience at a club that plays a brand of football similar to that of their parent club.
