Will reserve judgement until we beat a team in the top half of the table.

Ipswich were third in the form table last week - and playing at home. I agree we don't beat teams above us in the table (yet) but you have to concede that the Ipswich game was a great win. I was there - and we simply didn't let them play or settle when they had the ball. We weren't at our best in fact but we were clinical. Very, very encouraging.

Just as one bad home defeat against Watford does not necessarily warrant Gus to be dismissed, neither does a win against a ravaged & injury side Newcastle team mean that Gus is the best thing since slice bread.

The facts do not lie & our home form is poor. Only 4 league wins against the bottom 4 teams.
Drawn too many games, scored too few goals, play too defensively & still lacking cutting edges up front.

However, we are still within touching distance of the playoffs, The Amex euphoria continues, large home crowds & our defensive frailties of last season have been largely erased.

Football is a results game. I suspect that failing to reach the playoffs this season will be forgiven, however, this is new BHA & I cannot see the manager staying if we do not finish in the top 6 next year - despite the lovefest that some have with Gus.

I for one sincerely hope that Poyet takes us to the promised land, however, if he is not up to the task, Chelsea's seem to do

okay & their expectations are much higher.

........ Couldn't have said it better. Still on the fence. Bloom won't settle for 9th, nor should we.

Tosser! We have at least got him to change things, bring back Dicker, and play more attacking football. We must have made him think long and hard after the Watford fiasco. He just needs to get rid of CMS now, and bring in some stronger players. He has listened, we move on.

At least we are playing more direct balls through now rather than knocking it around the back going nowhere

Nicely put and IMO spot on.

I moved to fence after the Watford game because it was an inept and passionless performance that smacked of a manager losing the team. At that point we'd only won 3 in 17 and there are managers who have been sacked after better runs than that. I'm delighted to admit, publicly, that I was overreacting.

More fool those clubs.

Thankfully we have a lifelong supporter of the club at the helm who understands the game, recognises a good manager when he sees one and knows full well that stability is the best route to success rather than the sad fickle 'get rid' mentality that is all too common in todays game. Thank God we're doing things the right way.

Yeah, he reads NSC and changes the team according to the fickle nature of opinion that is king on here  Yes, it really was the negacenti on here that got Gus to change things, well done you.

Agreed, but does Gus know how lucky he is to have Tony as chairman?

I disagree.

Many, like me, are huge Poyet fans, but still feel like the club got the prices wrong today.

I'd be very careful about grouping the Poyet out brigade (mentalists) with those that have issues with issues surrounding the club's pricing structure (realists).

Would you settle for 9th in the Championship given the amount of money our chairman has pumped into the club?

I can only guess what the chairman thinks...but as he's a poker player I would say he holds his cards close to his chest ...and knows that patience is required to get to where he wants to be..I'd say he was clever ....but like I say I can only guess

Agree...and given that Poyet has nothing to do with pricing to drag the 2 together is utter tosh

This season? Absolutely!

I suspect our chairman is someone who can sit in a car and understand just how long certain journeys take without the need to keep piping up, " Are we there yet?"

Barnsley would have beaten Newcastle today. Still, good performance - but is anyone actually convinced we'll do it next Saturday in the one that matters? I live in hope.

What the f*** are you talking about? Like I said, tell me the last time we came from behind, and even better, what is your plan b when we go a goal down?

Plan A today was to put out a weakend team with Ankergren and Dicker, although both played well, and beat the Geordies which we did. If we had gone a goal down, plan B would have been to bring on Lua Lua, Hoskins and Buckley. Would this have sufficed?
