Just as one bad home defeat against Watford does not necessarily warrant Gus to be dismissed, neither does a win against a ravaged & injury side Newcastle team mean that Gus is the best thing since slice bread.

The facts do not lie & our home form is poor. Only 4 league wins against the bottom 4 teams.
Drawn too many games, scored too few goals, play too defensively & still lacking cutting edges up front.

However, we are still within touching distance of the playoffs, The Amex euphoria continues, large home crowds & our defensive frailties of last season have been largely erased.

Football is a results game. I suspect that failing to reach the playoffs this season will be forgiven, however, this is new BHA & I cannot see the manager staying if we do not finish in the top 6 next year - despite the lovefest that some have with Gus.

I for one sincerely hope that Poyet takes us to the promised land, however, if he is not up to the task, Chelsea's seem to do
okay & their expectations are much higher.
