I have to ask again, how do you know this? I dont see how anyone in the club would risk their position by giving this information out.

I once knew how much one of our defenders earned. I was friends with him and during a drinking session he told me. It was a long time ago but my point is these things can get out.

Paul Watson deserved every penny of his £10k per week. I know he's only a physio now, but he still deserves such a wage.

So there is no budget but strong rumours that we're after Aaron McLean currently at Hull. Something doesn't add up.

Were crackers then because at least 2 players are on double that

Vicente must be on a large wedge , I don't think he would have signed for us if our wages ceiling was only £9k a week.

I thought Gus said a few weeks ago that he sat down with Bloom and worked out how much cash he could splash in the January transfer window and had also got assurances that he would have an increased budget in the summer for a push to the play offs next season.

Mybe he found out he's got No money in January, then found out he'll have more than that in summer?

Just like the rest of us then.....I suspect there is a few quid knocking around, but I wonder what Mr Bloom really think's of Gus's spending so far since the end of last season. There has been a lot of money spent on wages and fee's with very little pay back from some quarters. I suspect he is a little more cautious with his cash than he was a few months ago with Gus and who could blame him.

Why would Bloom be more cautious. Most of Gus' signings have been injured, and it starting to look more and more like its an issue with the pitch, a pitch Bloom delivered to Poyet. Poyet can hardly be blamed for the injury crisis. If anyone thinks it is, they seriously need a reality check.

If the right player comes along ie Reyes, the money is there. They are not going to let someone who they would sign in the summer anyway, get away now.

There is money if needed. But they are not going to spend money on players that are not top of Gus' wishlist.

Don't forget, after CMS signed this summer, they said they expect to break the transfer recorded at least once. The money there. The right players are not at the moment.

In what way is it strict? One said Murray wanted more than our wage structure would allow, then CMS, Vienetta and the others came, all apparently on far more than Murray was ever on, and I think it considered common knowledge that both CMS and the Dogger are on considerably more than Glenda was asking for, so what is out strict policy then?
Poyet offered Murray the maximum he was willing to pay for him. Murray didnt want more than our wage structure allowed. Our wages structure was calculated knowing the CMS would be top earner. Murray wanted far less than that, but Poyet offered him the top end of what he thought he was worth. Murray went to Palace for two grand more. Fair play to him.

And where is it common knowledge what Vincente is on?

Face facts nobody on here has got a fecking clue what the players earn or what our salary cap is it's just guesswork and gossip, And i'm not going to doubt what Naylor has tweeted because I expect thats what the club have told him but my GUESS is it's the clubs way of trying to soften the blow for the impending sale of fans favourite Noone to Cardiff.

As my post said, it is considered to be common knowledge on here, I know nothing, but for all the speculation on here, and those who say they are ITK, the considered opinion is that Vinchenty and CMS earn the highest wages at the Albion, and they are sure to be on more than Glenn was ever offered, aren't they?

Tbh, I'd rather we saved until next Season, we are not going down or up this Season. I'mm sure it's a juggling act between ground and training facility development versus big money transfers as well.

This. Rome wasn't built in a day. The constant lack of patience on this board is absolutely incredible. I'm just glad I have a roof over my head when I see the Albion play, toilets that don't rock or sway in a high wind, and a view that allows me to see football nice and close. Oh and Championship football. Oh and replays of goals, or attempts on goal. If we don't sign anyone this month, I won't be angry, upset or incredulous, just happy that my side is actually on the up.

Staying firmly on the gus bus.

Who says its the pitch?..only poyet,he should look closer to home about injuries......ie over training the players.

My sons and I have mentioned this but it isnt apparent by the lack of attempts on goal that it is the football skills but perhaps our players are pushed too much fitness wise. Who really knows we can all have our own ideas or guesses.

I think its universally accepted that the championship is probably the most rigourous league in england in terms of impacts on the human body. Its played (by most teams) at a pace way above the Premier league or league 1 and the fitness demands on players is therefore greater.

I think this therefore leads to a need to concentrate on fitness levels. It isnt uncommon for players who drop into this league or who get promoted to take a year to adjust - when we got here back in 2002 we also suffered a catalogue of injuries to players (e.g. zamora) who were young and had been at the lower leagues for a few years. Its not dissimilar to what we're seeing now especially with the 'impact' players such as noone, buckley, hoskins, lua lua and the full backs who need to make forward runs such as Tanno, Painter and Calderon.

The pitch may be a factor but i doubt it is the main one. For example the injuries to Noone and Hoskins initially occurred either in training or away from home.

My theory is not based on guess work....but you live and learn hopefully..Just wish some people didnt always look to blame something else all the time,as it can never ever be them.

I am sure it is just a bit of clever pr by the club, to say we are not going to pay silly money for players. We spent big in the summer (cms) and the pot is empty. However, if you can tempt us with a decent price for one of your players, we can see what we can do.

Simples.

There is always a deal to be done - but this can work with players coming in and going out!
