At conception every embryo is female.

As there's been a different take on this by another poster I thought I'd better check... and it's not the case. The sex of the embryo is determined by the chromosomes. I checked various official gov and NHS websites just to be sure.

But as Sussax said above, we'll all drive ourselves mad(der) if we start a new thread every time Trump does something we think is weird.

Trouble is, I find it all so fascinating and/or worrying so I remain engaged - I can't help myself!

The wording states that a person belongs to the gender they have at conception.

At conception every embryo is female. Female genitals start developing first and are only replaced with male ones at about 6 weeks after conception.

With legal documents, you can't get away with "well it obviously meant...". What's written is written.

So every American is now, according to executive order, a girl.

It's debatable, that's the problem. Obviously all of the genetic factors are determined at conception, but it's difficult to assess exactly what effect they'll have.

A law should be clear and not subject to interpretation, so even though I started this intended more as a light hearted joke than anything, it's still a fecking stupid executive order.

So a clearer statement might be that genetic factors that determine sex are fixed at conception. Laws are frequently open to interpretation unfortunately - see discussions on this forum about penalties recently! The intent of the executive order seems clear enough but implementation will show.

That is a very good question to which I have no simple answer.
My suggestion:

For sport, it has to be sex.

For anything non-competitive that involves possible nudity then if you have an intact cock and balls you need to join the 'men' queue.

For anything else, it should be decided by the individual.
