He said China and the WHO were working hard and doing a good and transparent job. And he's said it's all their fault.

He's advised that the lock down is necessary. And he's encouraged protesters against it and for states to be liberated/open up.

He's said that he has total authority. And he's said it's all down to the states, he's just back up.

Ah yes, but you see that's covered in his fourth pairing. It's all the states's fault. He's just back up. Those guys were woefully unprepared and slow to act. He acted immediately with his Chinese travel ban. If the states had asked him he would have told them it was a pandemic(see situation pairing 1).

Just for context Hawaii has extended their stay at home order until May 31st. Parks are reopening for running, walking and cycling. Play areas and picnic tables remain closed

Of course the fact that the virus was already in the US and establishing itself is missed by him, as is the fact he claimed it was nothing and they had a handful of cases that would be gone very soon and then a beautiful thing would happen. You know from other threads that I agree with you, eventually, soon, a balance will need to be struck. To seek the absolute minimal deaths from covid19 over two or three years, at the cost of failed businesses, sectors, kids never meeting mates, and probably suicides, is too great a price imho. Just 5 weeks in I'm content to wait for easing of restrictions in May hopefully, with more to follow.

You have to remember that Trump is the shite-stirrer in chief, he thrives on divisions home and abroad. Does he truly care that individual New Yorkers are grieving in ever growing numbers, or is he a narcissist, largely interested in his wealth and election prospects? My money's on the latter.

I just caught someone being interviewed on Sky News who was protesting.

His view point was why is his small business shut (a wine shop from the looks) yet Walmart is open and trading.

The interviewer just kept on asking him would he feel guilty if him working was killing people and refused to answer his point about Walmart doing the same.

I'll hazard a guess most of us are viewing the actions on these predominately white middle aged American's through the prism of our own lens.


We get furloughed.
They get sacked.
We get a 80/90% wage promise.
They get unemployment benefit.
We get the NHS
They just lost their health insurance.
We get a fairly united voice across the media
They get entry level vitriol, from all sides.
We get a bumbling oaf who becomes camera shy.
They don't get so lucky.


Again all my own subjective work but American's just don't seem to do 'one nation' thinking, unless their anthem is playing.
I'm not seeing much, right now, behind The Star Spangled Banner and a flag fluttering in the wind, that would have me clutching my chest and welling up.

It's every man for himself, survival of the fittest.

Donny has gone and sacked the doctor from his federal post because he questioned the malaria drug that Trump said to take, what have you got to lose.
The drug has killed a lot of people that took it.
Trump is just a not very good businessman who strength is doing deals, no people skills and absolutely crap at politics.
Anyone that disagrees with him is sacked any outlet that proved him wrong is disgusting or as a last resort he just lies that he never said that.
I believe that he thinks he is JR Ewing.
