The bill also stated that the American embassy should move to Jerusalem within five years. Backing the legislation was viewed by some as reflecting American domestic politics. Clinton opposed the Jerusalem Embassy Act and signed a waiver every six month delaying the move. Bush never followed through either and Barry O in 2008, the day after getting the Democratic Presidential nomination, said in his first foreign policy speech that "Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain undivided." However, he backtracked almost immediately.
All Trump did was action what previous Presidents had promised. Now, in the light of whats going on in the Middle East, is it good timing? Further discussion methinks.

The article is about how 90% of Israeli Government Offices have not moved to Jerusalem despite a Law passed yonks ago by Netanyahu. The reason given is that the Israeli Civil Service do not wish to relocate there.

We know Israel flouts International Law and now the US has also.

Ok, you clearly have ridiculously large blinkers on, so there is no point listening to you on this matter.

Blame 7th Century Arabs all you want, but in life we have to learn how to progress, how to move forward, and that includes NOT ANTAGONISING a sensitive situation. You can stick your fingers in your ears and go la-la-la in a very loud voice if you want, but Trumps actions are taking us towards violence and away from a peaceful solution.

This has been going on for the last 4 weeks as the build up to Al-Nakba. A few weeks ago a Palestinian teenager was filmed in hospital after losing a leg to a bullet wound. He smiled at the camera and said he can’t wait to go to the line again. They are brainwashed into believing that they are rewarded in heaven for suffering. The more they suffer the greater their rewards, and if you don't turn up to the line you are a coward and will suffer in hell. It's a win win for them.

I don't see the displaced Greek Cypriots trying to attack North Cyprus. They moved on and built their new and successful lives in the South. If the Palestinians invested in themselves instead of the destruction of Israel they would have a country to be proud of.

They didn't attack the North thanks to thousands of UN peacekeepers being in place over the years - even now there are hundreds.

So you think it's acceptable for them to just be displaced and get on with their lives ? Why should they be displaced through no fault of their own ? Why should they live under the tyrannical policies of Israel ? Why shouldn't they get their lands back ? Would you be accepting if someone just rocked up at your front door and said "Tough shit pal, move, we taking this place over" ?
