Yes I agree he did do better than expected, but this is the usual cycle of governments and elections.

At the risk of hijacking this thread, again I'm not sure this was the case. When the election was called May was looked on far more favorably by the public at large than Cameron was in 2015. Cameron in 2015 had the potential millstone of 5 years of a pretty unpopular Government. May deliberately went at a time when this hadn't set in. Pre-campaign, her approval ratings were off the chart.

I really don't think this theory that Corbyn is damaging to Labour's chances holds much water. I think what has happened is he has hardened opinion against Labour among Tories and a very small (but extremely vocal and well connected) faction on the very right of the Labour Party who are essentially socially liberal Thatcherites. The electoral impact of this was more than offset by the gains made with under 45's.

Fcking hell, what an absolute MORON.

Really doesn't understand diplomacy.

For years every US President has faced this 6-monthly review and every time they have said.... "Er, well we think we should move the Embassy to Jerusalem, but not just yet and we'll review it in 6 months time." Thus maintaining a respectful air with the Palestinians (who, equally justifiably, believe they have a claim on Jerusalem as being theirs) while still acknowledging the Israeli claim to the city. Its called being DIPLOMATIC.

When the two sides come to a mutual agreement (brokered or independently, if they ever do!) then that would be the time for the US to act... doing it now just p1sses off the Palestinians and their allies, who really don't need more reasons to hate Israel and USA, thus escalating tensions locally and globally. Why deliberately do that?!

He is a tw@t of the highest order.

He needs a BIG distraction right now and this distracts sufficiently.

I'd imagine quite a few Israelis also think its a pretty dumb move.

Until the day (fast approaching, I reckon) when he decides to go toe-to-toe with North Korea...

Donald Trump, apart form being a sexist, raciest, egomaniac who is not content messing up your own country, you are now about to send the world spiralling into chaos acknowledging Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Now think why does Donald Trump want to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem ?
Trump has long championed the causes of those on the hard-right of Israeli politics.
Not least because they have supported him. Take Las Vegas casino tycoon Sheldon Adelson - a passionate supporter of radical Jewish settler groups in Jerusalem.
He gave a cool $35 million to groups supporting Trump's election campaign, which bought him a seat on the platform among former presidents for Trump's inauguration.
He has been said to be furious at Trump's delays in moving the embassy.

Money.

So that coupled with the fact he probably needs new allies and divert any bad publicity he is currently receiving in America, This truly show how short sighted this man is and is prepared to unleash a shit storm.

He has now stooped to a new low, and not content with dividing his own country with hate and vile, He seems intent on spreading further hatred and division throughout the world.
Feck you Trump, you complete and utter ****

He needs taking out.
