I'd hate to sell Sam Baldock, but £4M?

We can't turn that down, it'd be madness.

£4 million for Sam Baldock? Take it and sign Agard for £600k and I wont be complaining.

News around the place on Twitter that we have agreed 4M for Baldock!!!

I expect this is mindless optimism on the part of the BCFC fans.

Suspect it's crossed wires, fee would actually be £1.4million

4 million for Baldock would be insane in my opinion and would also confirm that he would be Ulloas replacement. I'd highly doubt we would sign him for 4 million then spend something similar for Ulloas replacement.

There's no way we will pay £4 million for Baldock. Bristol City fans can talk about how he wants to stay and they don't need to sell all they want but the fact is, with a year left on his contract, the power is in Baldock's hands. If he wants to stay, he will sign a new contract. If he wants to come to Brighton we will get him and for a sensible price. Bristol City won't want to lose their main asset on a free transfer next summer and won't want to risk having a player who wanted to move on their books. Either way, we won't pay £4 million.

4 million ?

Yes, for Vossen, or Soriano, or even Becchio.

But Baldock ? We should check in for a psychiatric assessment if we pay that much for him.

Would you pay £2m upfront then another £2m provided he scored over 20 goals, we got promoted to the Premier League and he played than 40 times this season? Hopefully the bulk of any fee is tied up in performance-appearance criteria.

Personally I wouldn't go above 1.5 million total, but 20+ goals and promotion would realistically mean we'd be able to pay a top up.
