Agree with you on this. The one that got away etc..Have a feeling Mheuka will be the one we look back on and say Chelsea did us there.

Given where they might finish in the league I'd imagine they'd still owe us money. At this rate it might be easier if Todd asks the Premier League to pay their prize money directly to us at the end of the season.
What I find slightly amusing is that, unlike you, Andy Naylor/The Athletic had previously written about the 11 we'd lost to Chelsea and made no mention of these two.
[Albion] - Albion have had THIRTEEN individuals move to Chelsea in 19 months
In August last year I posted this thread - Albion have had ELEVEN individuals move to Chelsea in 13 months On July 19 last year it was reported that Albion U-21 left-back Zak Sturge's rumoured move to Chelsea (despite being offered a professional contract by the Seagulls) was finally official...www.northstandchat.com
Not disputing how good he is (I’ve never seen him) but lots of physically mature players at a young age look “exceptional” then a few years later when the other kids have got bigger and stronger they become disillusioned because they are no longer the best, and drop down the pecking order.I first saw Mheuka at a primary school yr5/6 tournament in Burgess Hill. The lad was Outragously good and way beyond his years physically. And i mean the other kids thought he was 16! The whispers that day were he was already with Brighton and that Chelsea had tried every trick to entice him and parents to Cobham but they had said he was to stay at Brighton. A few years later I believe Chelsea came calling again and the rest is history. For his age it was thought by many at Lancing that he would be a star in the making.

Apart from his international appearances which @The Pilsbury Echo has posted above, he is still an U-16 schoolboy (so won't start his scholarship until the summer) but has already scored 9 goals for the Chelsea U-18s in 14 matches so far this season (which is more than any Albion U-18 player has achieved). Not disputing how good he is (I’ve never seen him) but lots of physically mature players at a young age look “exceptional” then a few years later when the other kids have got bigger and stronger they become disillusioned because they are no longer the best, and drop down the pecking order.
Is this lad Mheuka still considered a potential top talent at Chelsea?

So.......yes.
Every little helps.Does this additional outgoing actually put them over the threshold for / in breach of FFP?
Former Albion academy player Tayo Subuloye (who is an U-16 this season) started for Chelsea as they won the U-17 Premier League Cup yesterday beating Wolves 3-1. Shim Mheuka came on as a sub and within seven minutes both Wolves CBs had been booked for fouling him.
Next, you'll be telling me he's never heard of Tayo Subuloye.
Not least because Chelsea love to sell their academy players to fund splurges on overpriced prima donnas...........and there's more along the same lines in The Athletic article. The 20% sell on clause is potentially very good news though.

Former Albion academy talent Tayo Subuloye has secured his scholarship at Chelsea for 2024-25 (and a professional contract when he turns 17 in December). Can only assume his agents have used Fabrizio to promote their client (as there is little other journalistic justification for tweeting about an U-16 player - who has been at that club for 4 years already - receiving a scholarship). It's the world we live in, I guess:-
