That was then. Now it is a DEATH TRAP which can only be solved with zebra crossings.
40 years ago, the Seven Dials was just as busy as it is now, if not busier. Some bus routes are now better, more people cycle and the by-pass has been built since then. Seems to me, most people seem to approach The Dials fairly cautiously, and I've never witnessed a problem there (even when I lived round the corner), but it was actually easier to manoeuvre when the roundabout was larger.
