miserable fuckers,if some saddo had to grass them up the most the stewards should have done is slapped the grasser up(and high five'd after)and sent the swindon into the away end with the rest of the yokels.
away fans in the home end is the last resort of the dedicated fan,i have done it a few times.

Years ago before all seating stadiums we used to chat to the opposition, discus their individual team members and swap programs, then kept in touch to meet at their ground
at the return game,most enjoyable

I've done just that at away games on several occasions going back to the late 1970s, including the likes of Palace, Arsenal and West Ham when we had sold out our end. Just so long as you use a bit of sense as to where in the ground you go and don't take the piss with excessive goal celebrations I can't see the problem. I quite enjoy a bit of chat, banter and the views of the opposition on our players etc.

champion7, thats just my point, there were only three of them and no prior indication that they were Swindon Supporters.

Unfortunatly they gave themselves away by cheering the third goal, they had already been grassed up by hone fans but because they were doing nothing wrong we chose to leave them be.

Of course we did. Many's the time at the Goldstone or Elland Road or Filbert Street or Selhurst where I would be swapping programmes and discussing the relative merits of our back 4 with opposing fans.

Where exactly did you used to watch football? 3rd division in Scotland or something?

That's a fair point and i used to do it myself, unfortunatly these days the FA insist on segregation. If you get into the wrong end you will find yourself ejected as transfer to another part of the stadia is not on,we would love to do it but there are cameras every where so it's not worth the risk.

Unfortunatly they gave themselves away by cheering the third goal,

Then they are downright f***ing idiots. End of season, both teams safe, they might have got away with it, but sitting in the home end and cheering a 3rd goal against a team under a very real threat of relegation is sheer idiocy. Glad they got thrown out.

When we played at Swindon, if an Albion fan was in the home end celebrating the goals you can bet your life they would have been chucked out.

If they're retarded enough to sit in the home end and celebrate (how moronic can you get?), then they deserved to be thrown out.

For god's sake - its only a football match. As an Albion fan living in Swindon I tend to get tickets in the home end. As an adult among adults I can celebrate our goals without being expelled or beaten up. Get a sense of reality.

Pork pie land.
Following Swindons third goal a number of Albion fans were swearing and making threatening gestures towards a small group sitting a couple of rows in front of me. I asked several people around me what was this about as nothing of note had been noticed, I was informed they had clapped and cheered the goal. One of our fans then left his seat and returned with stewards who then escorted them from the ground.I realise that they should have been in the "Away Area" but considering the poor view of the match from that area and the fact that they had behaved themselves I was disgusted by our fans reaction, yes we lost but we are well used to it.
I HOPE AFTER REFLECTION THAT AN APOLOGY WILL BE SENT TO SWINDONS FORUM

Bollocks! They should never have been in our section. f***ing cheek of it!

I was sat near them.

Quite honestly, they should not be in the home end.

Don't REALLY have a leg to stand on.

To be honest, I wish Withdean was MORE like this. Maybe then people wouldn't wear Chelsea coats to the game...

I've sat in the home end at many away matches, usually because I quite often decide to go on the day (or a few days before) and can't get to Brighton to get a ticket......but one thing I wouldn't do is cheer a goal for us, because of respect to who I am sitting with, and also self preservation! These Swindon fans must have been a bit thick imho. (I sat in the Hereford end in 1997, and keeping quiet there took some doing!).
