And says we're slipping down the budget table by a long way. You what? We can't afford good players but can and are going to spend £38,000,000 on new seats and an acadermy but can't invest in good players.

Think the club should think of the playing side and keep us in the championship. Get us promoted and bank the money then build this academy. We'll be a yo yo club like West ham, ipswich, norwich.

We seem to keep coming out with these multi million pound projects but f*** all for the playing side.

Opinions please?

Its £36M , of which £22M is set aside for an academy. The £14M spend on finishing off the stadium will increase the capacity to 30,750. We are on the way to the promised land but it cannot be done overnight.

Not that fussed if we don't sign anyone. Reckon we've got enough to stay in this division once the injured return and the discipline issues are resolved. Much better to continue the building of infrastructure to attract bigger and better players in the future. Don't want to be a yo yo club. It's a marathon, not a sprint. However, if a bargain does present itself in Jan, then all well and good.

Opinions? You've forgotten where we came from. We spent the square root of f*** all for 20 years and then in a month we dropped 4m on THREE players. f***'s sake, have some f***ing patience. I don't want to be like Portsmouth. I would rather have a season or two more in the Championship, building our resources, building a base for not just a push on the Prem but a push to stay there if/when we go up. The off the pitch spending is huge now but if it sets us up for say, 40 years- then it works out at half a million a year, a pretty good investment I reckon- but that's what it is, an investment. The academy isn't for now, it's for the future. Right now we're comfortably mid-table. I'll take that. Next year, top 10, year after that, top 6. If we don't get up through the play-offs that year, then automatic the next.

Slow and steady.

a) "Hi, xxx xxx. Yeah, it's true we use a playing field to train on"
b) "Hi, xxx xxx. Yeah, it's true. We've just spent £20m on a state of the art academy with great a physio set up, a replica pitch, etc..."

Which is more appealing to the potential signing?

Not one answer to the playing side. Gus will never get us there. This forum is full of deluded teens.

I can't work out whether you're (1) on a permanent fishing trip, (2) stupid, or (3) a JCL with no idea where we've come from. I sort of hope it's 3, because if you've been along for the ride for more than 6 months then you've got f*** all excuse for not knowing where we've come from. We're not going to throw 10 million around because we're NOT f***ing MAN CITY.

You think everyone else is deluded? That'd be you mate if you think spending for spending's sake is going to lead us anywhere but up shit creek.
