We need to spend anywhere between 20-40 million pounds in total to stay up and remain within a respectable budget should we go down.
Spending the most money doesn't guarantee success, as evidenced by last season. I think the club do get value for money, the majority of the time, so let it continue.
There is value out there but no way in the world should we solely focus on bargains, we will have to pay market value in an overheated market and finding that elusive striker/s will cost.
I'd say Norwood and skalak were poor investments and both need shipping out asapThe biggest problem is the wages. Signing players on contracts of more than £20k could backfire if we don't survive.
We need the right sort of players for a decent wage and maybe that will mean spending slightly more on a transfer fee but since CH arrived we've improved our squad with most of our signings without paying too much.
If you look at those we have recruited recently we've found plenty of bargains. Kayal, Goldson, Hemed, Murphy, Sidwell, Rosenior & Bong each purchased for less than £1m. Add to that Uwe, Duffy, Skalak, Norwood, Knockaert & Murray. There are plenty of bargains available
