Seems Richards may be this year's Savage.
Not really, Savage was making demands for higher wages based on nothing, Richards IS being paid a higher wage and like most people would probably not want to take a two thirds pay cut, even if it's only for the next 6 months.

Seems like zamoraace was spot on anyway.

I was meaning it a more simplistic way, i.e the wage demands of both seem to be way beyond what we would be willing to pay, regardless of how useful or crucial they may be as players

I for one won't be disappointed to see Richards go, he is very suspect against nippy wingers.

Livermore can fit into the left back position if we are unable to secure another left back in the window.

Richards can earn £150k in the last 6 months of his contract at Portman Road.
Its a catch 22 situation for him , does he sign for us on a reduced deal for a couple of years or wait until his current contract expires and hope he gets a better offer than ours from another club.

correct me if I'm wrong but the last time we signed him it was a last minute job because he was waiting for a better deal that never came.

if he want to earn a living at football then the Albion option really is the only one he has Ipswich obviously do not want him ......or is he going to wait and pick up with the Albion when his contract ends ...........taking a might chance me thinks.

I would.

One of only a handful of current players who actually play like they CARE.

Replacing Cox with Anyinsah would not be a good move.

Playing like they care dosen't beat playing with ability otherwise Revell would be worth millions.

Its clearly about striking a balance though. Having a team full of decent quality players who don't CARE much, gets you beaten by 'inferior' teams week in week out, and finds you in the drop zone at Christmas.

Our problems are nothing to do with passion, a lack of passion is an easy excuse for a lack of talent, look at the England team! now cappello has decided to play players like Walcott ,Barry and Agbonlahor etc rather than the usual Beckham, Owen, Lampard etc we now see an attractive world beating team, this is because of talent not motivation.

So you don't think players like Johnson, Thornton, Murray, etc are GOOD enough for League 1, then?

Thornton hasn't been given a chance so he is a great example of the lack of talent in the team which is avaliable just like the England example I gave you earlier. Murray is on his own alot of the time because of the lack of talent provided to him and Johnson dosen't play for Brighton anymore.
Mcleod and livermore are players who clearly have the talent but aren't given the chance because of the PASSION of Virgo and Fraser, who would you rather have?

I'm not going to drag this argument out, because clearly we agree on the main thing - Adams is an utter clown.

Thornton, Livermore, Robinson, loft - all underused IMO.
McLoed = sicknote.

However, even players WITH bags of talent, have to show grit and determination, and be prepared to take a knock or two for the team. That is why, after half a season with the likes of Thomson and Johnson in the centre, we are in the relegation zone. Talented players, who couldn't give a flying f*** about the fate of Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club.

Fair point, its just i can't stand fans who preferred Revells work effort to Murrays class, but i do agree with what your saying about our lack of fight in the middle and a charlie Oatway has been what this clubs lacked fo the last 2/3 years even so Oatway was always the least talented player we had, he often came out as the most effective.
