I like this with Lua Lua in for Baz with half hour to go, Barnes in for Dicker if we're chasing.

Can't be bothered to even think of team selection as my motto now is "In Gus we Trust" - simples.

Very tricky game and Tranmere have found some form so a narrow away win or a draw.

I'd be happy with still being top at 5pm tonight, a draw would do nicely and then go for the 3 points against Bmuff. I think going to places like this today and not getting beat will be the difference between finishing 2/3 or 6/7.

Tactical Change

One (perhaps even two) of these four will be on the bench for tactical reasons:

Bennett
Lulua
Barnes
Murray

The reason is you cannot play two wingers and two strikers. I would not be surprised if both Lualua and Barnes are on the bench. If Lualua is on the bench, he will come on in the second half.

As Tranmere are low scoring at home and there were not many Albion goals away, par would be 0-0, but football is never like that. Banker score draw.

I think Sparrow could be on the bench as well.

I beg to differ... 2 wingers and 2 strikers is the way forward.

Looking back to 1999 a certain team from Manchester happened to win practically ever game playing 2 winger and 2 strikers throughout the season

Giggs and who?

You can only play on one wing at a time, so you can have two wingers, but when the other winger (Beckham) is not in play he can track back like a midfielder. But perhaps LuaLua could develop into a Dwight Yorke type of forward ?

PS: Tranmere beat Peterborough 1-0 earlier in the season. They are probably a better team than their league position. This sort of confirms my opinion that we will not play two strikers, or two wingers.

Lualua has made 5 appearances. 4 starts and one sub appearance (v plymouth, started on the bench for fitness reasons, not tactical).

Of those four starts the only one we didn't play two wingers and two forwards was Carlisle.

The only one of those four we didn't win was... Carlisle.

I'd take a draw today. We rarely beat Tranmere at Prenton Park.

0-0

So we'll drop Barnes, who is making a great partnership with Murray. And also play Sparrow, how was MILES off the pace against Brentford?

Interesting...
