trance gets boring quite easily if listened to for extended periods of time. im into some old school funky house at the moment, the likes of gat decor- passion, de'lacy-hideaway and strike -u sure do.

I've an 8 hour Markus Schulz set here if you want to try and disprove that (or prove it, in some peoples cases!)

I would like to be disproved, however 4 hours of build ups and break downs tends to string out, i suspect its that i have heard it all before in my own collection.

Corsten was mentioned (Moonman - Galaxia) anyway; Picotto had some stompers - Iguana, Proximus, etc.

Shit I forgot he did that

Proximus used to get played in the Zap alot when I first started clubbing, I used to love that bit after the breakdown. Lizard has to be on the biggest of all time list.

Three Drives are worth a mention Greece 2000 and Sunset on Ibiza

Used to  the Renaissance collections.

The 10th Anniversary Edition is pretty damn gorgeous also.

That is not trance, its great. Please call it good progressive house.

Trance is nearly all shit and enjoyed by clueless people who dress in illuminous clothing and wave glow sticks.

someone has a massive, massive chip on their shoulder..

Both Sasha and Digweed produced trance, although you're probably deliberately forgetting this.

Embedding seems to have broken itself, but I was trying to put in Youtube links to Xpander and Heaven Scent here.

Anyway, having attended numerous trance events/nights/festivals in the past while, I can tell you theres very little in the way of luminous clothing and glowsticks. 1999 passed by a long time ago.

Sasha and Digweed played trance in the early nineties before it turned totally shit. Trance music post 1996 makes me want to vomit, its awful.

you could sort of say they are one and the same thing, at least trance came from progressive house. but as MYOB says, Sasha and Digweed are trance, with their epic build ups and 30sec of beat before another buildup (... no i didnt care for them but in the 90's).

Both of them produced trance post 1996, let alone just playing it. In the early 90s Sasha at least played house...

You have a massive chip on your shoulder and completely unfounded preconceptions.

They played progressive house from 93 onwards not the sort of trance obomination that the likes of PVD, Corsten and Tiesto were crapping out. Before that they played House and Garage oldskool stylee, I know I was there reguarly.

Im sorry, whatever you think, Trance post 95 on the whole really is bad bad music and considered a joke by almost everyone into credible electronic music.

This sums it up for me:

Who gives a flying f*** what is credible and what isn't.

In the past year I have been to credible music club nights (Techno, House) and non credible music club nights (Hardcore, Gabba, Hard Dance). I enjoyed all of them as I have a broad interest in dance music and couldn't care less what I'm supposed to think is cool.

honestly you either dont have a clue or are going by some personal definitions of progressive house/trance. i know a guy who was mates with digweed and might have been the "Sasha" part, but went their seperate ways precisely because Digweed was into trance and my friend was more a hard house fan. (though i'd say digweeds prodcution was more prog house... many DJ seem to play and produce different flavours).

a for whats its worth, PVD, though probably over exposed, came from techno. quite surprising* that For an angel was orginally a 94 techno track that went on to be massive trance hit four years later (*was for me, not really aware of the 45RPM album untill last night)

Can you explain how Sasha managed to produce a well known trance track in 1999 and Digweed the same in the same year if they were both playing progressive house? ???

Directly post 1993, Tiesto was an unknown, van Dyk was playing and producing techno and commercial pop (there is no other way to describe "Pumpin' This Party" and its ilk); and Corsten wasn't even heard of under his own name.

Whats seen as "credible" is only seen as credible by those that follow it. In this case you don't even seem to know the basics of what you're blabbing about so I can't take your definition of credible as being worth anything. Get a grasp on reality and do a LITTLE research before coming back with more crap, thanks.

Are you trying to tell me Sasha and Digweed werent playing Progressive House? Dont be a complete muppet. The entire rennaisance scene was based on progressive as were the Northern Exposure nights and they then toughened up with their Fabric residency which became bordeline techno.

No, I'm telling (not trying) you that well after your 1996 cutoff date (which you then brought back to 1993) that they were playing trance.

You're the complete muppet, absolutely blind to reality so you can keep your pre-set views.
