In theory Millwall's station should be a complete nightmare but I've used it on several occasions without incident. Boisterous but not dangerous.
Having seen the train queues after the Gillingham game, I thought a good idea would be the 25/28/29 on the A27 back into Brighton.
Only problem is, that of the 6 buses scheduled at the falmer station stop between 21.50 and 22.20, none of them turned up, leaving people stranded.
a 25 and 28 turned up 22.24, but those two buses didnt have the capacity to take the people now waiting at the bus stop. (i think more and more people kept turning up having seen the train queue)
If the buses ran the schedule they were supposed to, it would go a long way to solving people being stuck at the ground after midweek games

He was asking to "have trains lined up so they can get all the fans away from Falmer inside 30 minutes". Lining up WHERE?
And how would this allow the timetabled services (five trains an hour) to run?

i left the gillingham game five minutes early and it was fine
....It might not be good for post match bar revenue but I can hardly see some Millwar or Palacescum supporters putting up with a two hour wait for a train. It needs to be sorted and sorted now before something nasty happens....
What people forget is that there is no safety issue here and that is the only thing that will concern putting more seats in. Just because you have to queue for a train or a bus is not important, same as any other large sport or concert venue such as Wembley or the O2.
shouldnt have to leave early to get away well, thats the problem.
Millwall will be ok. Palace will be murder.
Can't they use platform 3 at Brighton or don't they like doing that these days?
I left on time after Gillingham- joined the back of the queue and waited about 20 mins. No problems at all. The only answer r/e the West Hams, Millwalls is to lock them in for 20 mins and try and clear as much as possible- there really is nothing else we could do. We cant segregate to the station/segregate the trains etc as this is a logistical nightmare. If there is going to be trouble there will be trouble before and after the game in and around the city centre and thats for the police to sort not the club.
why would millwall and west ham fans want to start a ruck after the game?
