I think that "Outing" him would be cruel and also, possibly, a violation of the rules here on NSC.

Suffice to say, he knows what he did and has to live with that shame quite acutely for the next few days. That is punishment enough

Hmm? Cycling past Bhasvic en route northerly along Dyke Road. About 50ish.

No! I come up with zero.

He would probably argue about it and just make it worse.

Although having no sympathy for the cyclist I do question whether he should have too endure being shown on national tv,we have all been bolshie and irrational at times.

Nope only if court proceedings have yet to take place. He was charged and fined £700 by a magistrate and an additional £215 in costs. And rightly so.

Nowhere to hide.

Brighton cyclist fined £700 From The Argus)

And Primrose or Princess whatever her name is, gets a £40 fine and 3 points.........yeah correct justice!!

I'm sure you agree as cyclists are the scum of the earth in your opinion.

He was made an example of, why I don't know.

No not at all. Occasionally I am one myself. A law abiding one though.

Noticed that too, but not sure it wasn't the way the street lights were falling across his crotch. Would have LOVED to have seen his reaction to the £700 + £215 in court. He must have gone completely nutzoid.

Moral of the story is be polite to the police and you'll probably just get a slap on the wrist or pixed penalty notice. That cyclist was a proper twat.

That's one of the punsihments available for that offence. If the dick of the cyclist hadn't argued and taken the fixed penalty he'd have been better off than Primrose / Princess. In fact the officer hinted that, had he stopped when asked, all he would have got was a ticking off and told to walk home.

No sympathy what so ever and yes I think both punishments were at the correct level.

He was made an example of, why I don't know.

Not really, I expect that it went to a full trial (the costs indicate this) and he was found guilty and fined in accordance with the guidelines, getting no discount.
He was guilty of several offences, if he declined to supply details of his earnings the he would be fined on the basis of £350/week. If the court decided that the offences should be punished separately, then £700 isn't unlikely but I imagine he continued to be a prat during his passage through the legal system. I would also think he didn't have a solicitor as he would have been advised to plead guilty at the first opportunity, say sorry and hopefully get a small fine or even a Conditional Discharge.

As an aside, I must have missed something, why was Primrose pretending to be Patience or vice versa ?

It's true, I'm no arselicker but the amount of times I've been nabbed for minor stuff like pissing in the street or driving without a seatbelt, had a laugh and a joke with the copper, apologised and they've let me off.

They're just folk doing their jobs like your or me, you piss them off and they're not gonna help you. That cyclist was a proper numpty for keep arguing.

He is just the type of person that gives cyclists a bad name. I drive and cycle. When I cycle I follow the highway code the best I can. However sometimes it not possible to use the road.

That cyclist deserved the fine, however how come that women driving around on a provisional licence did not get more of a fine also?

I don't care who is it, but I can't stand people who are driving around illegally. We pay enough for insurance and road tax, mot and repairs. If you cant afford it get off the road before you kill someone.

That stupid Precious woman should have been done for wasting police time - our taxes paid for that PC to be stuck with her for god knows how long while little johnny is getting mugged down on West Street and no one's going to the little chap's aid. And she ends up getting sympathy from him for being upset at being found out!!!!! Shiver me frickin' timbers NSC!!! An outrage!

The stowaway on the lorry - did I really hear the copper say at the end that "we will give him a train ticket to somewhere, and we'll never see him again", after all the resources they piled into arresting him?
