Is there any actual evidence Albion are in for him ? (Daily Mail is basically the drunk bloke in the pub)

No idea who he is, but if Chelsea signed him in the summer it was probably based on our interest, not because they need him. 'If Brighton want him, he must be good'.

He's been pretty ordinary for them when he has played this season. Which is one of the reasons why they've called Chalobah back from Palace, because they've decided Tosin isn't up to it.

That said, he's probably still no worse than some of the central defending we've seen in the last six weeks or so. But I'd very much hope we wouldn't give Chelsea much money for him.

Pretty sure Chelsea don't pay that high wages any more. They guarantee long contracts but not big wages, so it might not be such a big obstacle.
Haha. Oh you're serious?

It's all relative. They don't have any Drogbas on £350,000 per week now, but you can bet your arse they're still paying some of them two or three times what we ever paid anyone. No way are the likes of Reece James on anything less than £200,000 a week. Probably (and hilariously) Chilwell too. Enzo Fernandez won't be skint either, or the three ex-Albion weasels. Interestingly, the suggestion is that Cole Palmer is on nowhere near that, which considering he's by far their biggest star, seems like an anomaly. Hopefully one that will cause him to bin them off in the end.

It’s well known that Chelsea have reduced wages as they’ve increased contract length. James, Chilwell, Sterling are on v high wages but were part of the earlier way of doing things. Possibly Fernandez as well, and Mudryk, hilariously enough. But after that they changed their MO. I’m sure you’re right though, that their top people will certainly be getting more than ours. Not sure about players like Tosin though. I suspect he’s not earning what you might think.

They have reduced their wage structure, but still (apparently) have an average wage of about £90k, so their average wage is higher than our highest paid player, Kadioglu on £87k.

Adarabioyo is supposedly on £120k. That said, take these numbers with a pinch of salt. Wage sources are notoriously sketchy.
