You might want to ask them that could be one reason. You might want to visit Kenya now that's poverty without any help. No food banks or running water or electric flushing toilets ... funny thing is none of them ever complained not even the school we visited which makes yours look like a palace no doubt. We gave them books and pens and pencils and it was like you gave them the world ... that's poverty

They are also a dirt poor country with no solid infrastructure in many places. We are not. We are the 6th wealthiest nation on earth and we have children going hungry. If the parents aren't budgeting properly then we need to look at our education and social services. In the meantime let's just let the kids starve.

See, I’m more concerned about feeding the children than I am about pointing fingers. I’m sure though it has nothing to do with government policy...

Still, I’ll remember your attitude tomorrow when I go into work. I’ll go into breakfast club and take away their food because their poverty isn’t as absolute as those in Africa and it’s probably because their parents are layabouts. I’Il also be sure to take away their free school dinner too so they more than likely don’t have a hot meal at all during the day. After all, their suffering doesn’t interest you because it’s probably the fault of their parents. I’m sure they’ll understand.

Sorry to interject. I know teachers that regularly pay for kids to attend breakfast club because the parents cannot afford it. That's at Moulsecombe primary.

I would have thought that if you give any merits to polls after they've been so wayward across recent elections, they'd be quite depressing reading for any Labour supporter.

Neck-and-neck-ish mid-term with an out-of-sorts Tories who are supposedly tearing both themselves and the country apart. Labour should be all but moonwalking to a majority according to the polls now, surely. Unfortunately, for so many people (raises hand), the thought of Jeremy Corbyn being elected to be British Prime Minister is abhorrent. If Labour has the wherewithal to kick him into touch, they'd have a fantastic chance of forming the next government.

anyone paying attention at the last budget knows austerity already ended, and there's been a year of spending promises. any current cuts are consequence of budgets severel years back. no one seems to notice that other than excise duties there's a year lag to items in the budget, usually 2-3.
